Quansah and Jones will start this one I think, with City in mind. Would be nice to see Endo used too, to give another of the midfield trio a rest.

What news on Gakpo and his injury?

For who? Ibou & Gravenberch? Or Macca or Dom?
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Quansah for Konate, given the theory Ibou can't play a match every 3 days. And Jones for whoever is more knackered out of Grav and Macca. So probably Macca.

Villa need to beat Chelsea on Sat more that us Wed, hopefully that plays in to our hands with team selection from Emery

Both matches are important to them but I get what you’re saying.

Unless Gakpo has recovered, yes. Although i'd like to see Bradley for Trent cos that was a ****ing shocker from Trent on Saturday.

Quansah was very good against Wolves so hopefully that's the boost in confidence he needs to step in for Konate.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Trent, his performance was terrible, you could argue he is coming back from injury and needs minutes but we are in a title race and can't afford to carry any passengers. All that and his contract situation...

TBH the contract side of things is the least important thing in the short term.

His form is what matters and it has been patchy at best.

Hoping he might sign a contract is no reason for him to get game time if his form is off.

Salah and VVD are setting the example for him to follow.

Yep, not sure I'm that bothered to see Trent again, he's playing like he doesn't give a ****

It is but, being dropped could put him in a huff and negatively affect his contract situation and his relationship with the manager going forward if he is told a few home truths about his performance. Not saying anything other than there are alot of factors in play with him.

Personally I would drop him and play Bradley, from some stats it looks like he is having a decent season, but for me he is largely frustrating and at times looks like he has mentally checked out.

Trent offers additional threat at the cost of sometimes risky passes or lack of defending. Though his defending has got a little better since a) his position is more conventional RB and b) Konate often covers really well for him.

But Salah works much better with TAA, as does Nunez who is always making runs for the pass. It's a tough one as Conner is solid defensively but we're looking for wins now.
                            One tit for another.

I’m not sure if it was confirmed but if true he lost me when he mentioned some sort of guarantee of being the captain within a few years. He’s certainly not a leader.

                                Alisson
                                TAA Konate VVD Tsimikas
                                Szob Endo Jones
                                Salah Nunez Jota

I think this offers some rotation, depending how the game goes, we can sub Elliott, Quansah, Grav, Mac, Bradley, Chiesa and Diaz. Could see Quansah keep his place though tbh.
