    Completely disagree.

He had the keeper to beat. He played a pass which upped the conversion %. That's exactly what you want similar to Jota squaring for salah tap in.

Martinez is an excellent keeper. Dom did the right thing IMO, especially the angle he was coming in at, could basically only shoot across the keeper.

I don't buy it. He's clean through, can put it either side of the keeper or through his legs. Jota had a more difficult shot and a better placed player to pass to. The pass was always going to leave Darwin with a tighter angle and a defender close by. Any decent attacking midfielder or striker slots it past the keeper without a second though lt. Dom is not that.

And it wasn't just that, there was a situation second half where i think he had a 3 on 3 with Dom carrying it forward. He couldn't decide what to do and ended up stumbling into his marker and losing the ball. Whether form, confidence, or ability, he is not a threat to defences. Probably a decent candidate for back up right back more than any of the attacking positions at moment.

You don't have to pay, you can have it for free

I get it but I think it was class play and not a stick for him. Bobby and Mane score that combo and Bobby heralded complete, unselfish genius etc... maybe the mistake was passing the responsibility to... Nunez.

If he was squaring the ball to literally anyone else…

                            That's just silly man.

So if we bought some jack ass like Neymar for £200m that would make you happy? You have to control for quality. What do you want the transfer team to do - sign overpriced and overpaid jerks (ala at least the top two spenders in that list) to get our net spend up, or make astute signings (and sales!) ?

Because mostly we've done the latter, and if you want proof that it works, well - we spend less and still outperform other teams. We perform well on transfers and that is a good thing.

Have you seen where those top 3 spenders are in the league? Have you seen where we are? Come on man, you can't be that simple - increasing net spend clearly does not correlate with performance - there's much more to it than that.

Exactly. It is too easy to view spending money as a no risk activity. Yes it would be great if we had one or two extra players at the moment good enough to be used in rotation without lowering the standard, but there have been times we have had toleave players on the bus and anyway were those players available. Sensibly priced and willing?
