Look at Gravenberch. Look at players like Henry, Bergkamp. Sometimes it takes more than 5 games to show. And there is more than enough evidence that he’s got the talent his timing on the ball ability to play a pass even in the clip above shows that he is far better than Elliot.
And that is pretty much it.
New club, new teammates new country and playing in a position that requires a great understanding with those around him.
His price tag does not matter a jot. He needs time on the pitch to get up to speed with the league and with his own team and he is not going to get that on the bench.
There are plenty of examples of big money signings coming into teams and hitting the ground running, but far more examples of those that needed time to get up to speed and then went on to be brilliant for their teams.
You named a few Arsenal players as examples. Pires would be another one that took time to settle, that was written off after six or seven games and then went on to be amazing.
Closer to home we have Gravenberch, Henderson, Robertson and Wijnaldum that were being written off early in their LFC careers.
Wirtz, for me, is a player that has too much talent and far too high a work rate on and off the pitch for him to not come good in time.
Watching that clip and you can see how good he is. No e of the getting bullied off the ball that has been mentioned. Good and incisive in possession. Created chances.
He’ll get better and better for sure.
Pffft, stats and video evidence don't mean anything.

Including successful passes to Isak that were totally over hit, god knows how Isak managed to control them and get a shot off. It didn't show a couple of awful passes, including one aimed at Mo when we had an overload that barely made it half way before it was intercepted. Lots a neat short passes that keep the ball moving are welcome, but he needs to be more effective than that. It was a 7/10 Harvey Elliott performance and we didn't pay £125m for that. Still a lot to do to establish his worth.
Well, £116m inclusive of add ons.
But yes it was 7/10. As I said, a step in the right direction.
Certainly not a performance that calls for taking out of the staring XI.
Yes more to to do, but he's only been here 5 minutes.
There's at least 2 of the uncompleted passes included in the clip above.
