Or is it nothing to do with Wirtz or the CB's, but because we signed two attacking FB's?
It’s still 2 starting CBs if it’s the DM dropping back to be the 3rd. Again only in possession. Can still be a back 4 out of possession.

Funnily enough I was about to post this also. Particularly if we sign Guehi.

We did start seeing 3 at the back at times in possession towards the end of last season.

Gravenberch falling back almost between the CBs with both full backs going high and wide.

I can definitely see Wirtz in a false nine in some games but I think we'll sign a striker so that'll complicate that possibility.

The only way I can see a back three is if Virgil form on the ground falls off and he needs a runner either side but I doubt that'll be necessary next year.

Yeah I don’t see us changing to a back three. Doing so would probably mean 343 & if So Frimpong on the right & Kerkez on the left leaves 2 spots centrally for Grav, Macca, Dom & Jones if we played Wirtz in the false 9. I don’t think that’s going to happen.

I think we'll just see more rotation. Szobo can cover all 3 midfield positions. We'll maybe see games with him and Mac double pivot, with Wirtz ahead.

Endo isn't really a starter for Slot, so you've got Wirtz, Mac, Szobo, Grav and Jones to cover 5 positions, which isn't that much. Wirtz will also play as part of front 3 at times you imagine, Mac isn't a great pick after internationals, Jones is still quite injury prone, so Szobo will still be playing the majority of games.

By abandoning the true No 9 we can keep Dom in the side as he’s a virtual machine with his work rate. But if we are chasing Isak I doubt we will.

Maybe too niche for a footy song.

An oompah song of some sort would be brilliant..
