I think people are being too rigid/static with their thoughts on what position Wirtz will play in.

LW, 10, False 9 - the benefit of Wirtz is that he could be extremely effective in any of these position. I think his position will change depending on the opposition and also with the players we have available. We saw PSG be very effective with a fluid front 3 who changed positions in game and for me, Slot will do something similar.

All true, one thing is certain, he will be a major part of our build up play so I don't think he will be marginalised and stuck out on the wing like poor old salah.

Even if that is true, who's to say it's not just to give us options. Plan B as it were.

True but all the reliable journalists have said we are looking for a first choice 9. Ornstein said Isak was the original target but is no longer an option due to Newcastle getting into the champions league and signing Wirtz won’t change things.

We definitely will be very flexible and play different ways as Slot has shown which is one of his strengths. But a first choice 9 is definitely the next target.
