    It means making a big sacrifice for our off the ball shape though and breaking up what was arguably our strongest unit last season. Perhaps for some games though, depending on the opposition.

    Left sided 10 (with Kerkez providing the width) allows Wirtz to operate in the same part of the pitch as he does for Leverkusen and Germany.

    We won’t be playing with wingers though, Frimpong and Kirkez will provide the width. Maybe Slot will deploy a fluid front 3 of Diaz/Gakpo, Wirtz and Mo

    He did discuss him in the midfield 3, but then discounted it and suggested left sided 10 (not LW) and false 9 as more likely options.

    I didn’t think so but I’m leaning more towards that could be the plan, certainly in some games. It will be interesting to see if we buy a striker or wide forward when Nunez goes

    Makes you think, hard for any manager to win a premier league but even more impressive Klopp did it with a British core in hendo, Trent, robbo, Gomez, Milner…sturridge too.
