Bournemouth at home Friday 15th August 8pm

Game 1 & about bloody time. Let’s put the misery of the Cup loss to bed & get stuck into Bournemouth.

Not sure if there’s any new injury concerns or who’s due back when so I’d imagine a similar starting X1 seeing that Ryan is suspended for this one. I definitely think we’ll see Rio come off the bench for a cameo in this one for Cody who played the full 90 on Sunday. Another question is Kerkez or Robbo here? Is Macca fit enough to start? I’d go with

    …………..Ali

    Frimpong Ibou Virg Kerkez

    ………Szobo Macca

    …………..Wirtz

    Mo …..Ekitike ……Cody

Bournemouth's back line has been obliterated this summer. 3 points and a hatful of goals pls. Can't stand seeing Arsenal at the top of the table
    Really?

More worried about our defence than our attack.

Yep agreed - Semenyo and Evanilson will get plenty of opportunities to run at our defence if their midfield gets time & space to play their passes, like Palace in the second half

Good point. They have lost both starting CBs and their starting LB.

Just googled and their starting GK is gone too.

They have bought no new CBs so will be starting against us with their back up guys from last season.

New keeper is bound to have a worldie on Friday. Hopefully that’s still not enough for them to take anything away from the game.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

No disrespect meant towards Bournemouth, but anything other than three points at home would be a really bad result for us.

I think they will give us a tough game as they are a well organised team that still has a number of really good players in it, but the players they lost this summer were all really good for them and the two at the centre of their back line have not been replaced at all.

I know it could be argued that we have a lot of new players settling in, but the flipside of that is a lot of our additions are of a high calbre and we will most likely have at least seven players starting on Friday that were all starting last season.

I fully expected Palace to give us a tough game with all their star players available and our key midfield basically missing. But with Bournemouth it should be a totally different story and outcome.

PSG just signed Zabarnyi today too, they have been completely decimated. 3 huge players for them gone (€170 million they got for them which is crazy), new GK and new LB. Kluivert hasn't played hardly any pre season either & Christie & Sinisterra haven't played any mins either, they are there for the taking. That's serious upheaval for them & we we thought we had some changes.

Yep. At least our changes are ones that make us stronger and add quality in depth. Bournemouth's changes take away the foundation the team was built upon.
