Wait until Sunday against the Mancs. If we lose, draw or only beat them by a single goal, then you will get all the action you crave.

Im not sure it will have a massive effect on fees, just for teenagers, although do they have to spend a few years here before they count? Every team has a youth team though.

What happens if the one player gets injured though during a game and there are no replacements on the bench or you used up your subs?

It just feels like a bollock ache and forcing young players into a team before they may be ready.

I don’t really understand what problem it is trying to fix. It would force Slot to give the young lads a chance I suppose, his worst nightmare. Thinking aloud….is it a bad thing if clubs have to promote academy lads instead of signing journeyman squaddies? Were David Amoo and Nathan Ecclestone that much worse than Milan Jovanovic and Andrei Voronin?

Thought I’d put this here instead of the general chat because it mentions Liverpool and also how would it affect the club. And why are FIFA interfering with club football now.

[Martyn Ziegler] - FIFA plan for every professional club to be obliged to have at least one homegrown u21 player on the pitch at all times. Liverpool have included an English U21 player in just two of their Premier League starting line-ups this season, the third lowest in the league.

Does this mean a player that’s been in the academy for a certain amount of time or just a player who’s homegrown in terms of the country and is u-21. Do foreign players that have been here since a young age and count as home grown like Frimpong count, if he was an u-21 player still.

Add in what it means in terms of subs and who you have on the bench if you take that player off.

    Seems a ridiculous idea.

I don’t see how this will help the young players by forcing clubs to play them and it will also add to the silly transfer fees for English players that we already see.

Salah has had almost no injuries for us (apart from when assaulted).

A shame this has happened. The number of injuries has been a bit shocking, especially as this was supposed to be mitigated by a low intensity game

Jones is a good player. Not super physical, but a good footballer who can fill a number of roles. We would be stupid to get rid.

The only problem is it takes a few games to warm him up if he hasnt played, but most players are like that.

Have them both share the role and depending on the situation if Morrison comes onto the bench he could get a bit of experience if the games won.

It will mean Jones finishes the season at RB. That’s an interesting one as he’s always played well when asked to play there, even under Klopp. Could he be a potential RB longterm. He’d be a different type of RB that’s more about his passing and moving the ball forward rather than the overlapping attacking wide type. I really hope he doesn’t leave.

What the feck has gone wrong with our conditioning. I hope whoever is responsible for our physical decline learns from it... World cup and reduced pre season is unfortunate timing for this team of crocks.
