I thought he got up, anyway….. it’s not uncommon for a player to walk off and have an ACL injury. Let’s hope it’s nothing like that because he’s already fragile and we might have pissed 125m against a wall

For a player that relies on pace and agility, twisting and turning, it doesn't look good, and will probably be curtains for getting any substantial return (i.e. a hatful of goals) on the investment if it does turn out to be his ACL.

I’m reading a few other accounts that are sports science related - some saying ankle and some saying knee. **** knows, but he looked in pain and with Gakpo injured, Salah away and Wirtz looked like he pulled something then maybe finally he’ll start Chiesa!

To me Wirtz just looked like he did the typical 'I ain't getting that' theatrical run stop, cos straight after he started jogging back just fine. He was subbed for fresh legs, I reckon.

I thought he reached to his ankle when he first went down. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

It can be adrenaline. Or the pain and swelling hasn't come on yet. Or the nature of the tear still allows straight line movement.
I get it, but surely the medical staff would not let him walk?
              Really?

I thought the same, but seeing the armchair physicians commenting ACL does cause a little concern, I must admit.

His foot doesn't look like it should be at that angle to his leg..

I’ll stick with our diagnosis until the real Doctors make their call.

I would not be surprised if Hugo is a fitness doubt; he looked to be struggling a bit before he scored.

I thought it looked like his ankle got rolled as he tangled up with VDV.

Let’s hope that’s all it is.

Didn’t touch the ball, scissor tackle, not even a yellow. Spuds were a disgrace today

                                Virgil walked off.
