        Might not be that bad.

This 100%. How can players continue to be allowed to get away with tackles that cause serious injuries like ACLs. This was a similar tackle to the one Pickford did on VVD. There should at least be some retrospective sanctions if the morons officiating on the day miss it.

It can be adrenaline. Or the pain and swelling hasn't come on yet. Or the nature of the tear still allows straight line movement.
The pain on an ACL is immediate. The tendon is tearing/snapping.

The pain subsides quite quickly though and thats why they walk off

If you look at that still image in the twitter post i'd be more worried about an ankle fracture/disclocation tbh. Ankles shouldn't be bending that way

I'll go with simple ankle sprain, out for 2months. I once folded up my ankle like that, even heard a giant crack and it swelled up. Not everything has to be ACL.

Yeah badly worded by me. There's certainly immediate pain from the tear, which subsides enough to allow walking on it.

But the pain or stiffness that then comes on with the swelling can make walking more restricted later on than it was in the immediate minutes after the injury.

ok, so I get why the player might still be able to walk, but surely it's not a good idea. Perhaps I'm going down a rabbit hole here, but if that is the kind of injury suspected, why would the medical staff let them walk off? I'm not querying those who know better than me, just genuinely confused by it.
                  Really?

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Lower leg, so not ACL then by the sounds of things.

                            Ankle ligaments or fracture maybe?

Was similar to the Van Dijk one. Any other time on the pitch and that’s a red card, he was totally wiped out.

My initial thought was broken ankle, but then he got up and hobbled off.
