Did not watch it as could not be arsed intentionally giving that **** too many minutes of my attention, but let's compromise and say he is chatting **** as usual and he is a thundercunt.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I thought it was interesting. Could certainly see his point about the midfielders not being in a position to pick up the second ball, but not sure that is just a feature of us v 9 men. Seems like every game that happens.

In the end though, these are professional players who are surely coached on where they need to be at specific points in play. Does mental attitude and fear really come into it that much? I tend to think not, but then I've never played football to any standard.
        Really?

Is that a cryptic way of saying you’ve played for Everton?
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Someday I hope you'll get off the fence about him.

It was clear to me watching the game that from open play we had too many dropped back and too deep.

Interesting to get his other insights though.

              - defenders should drop back from goal kicks to make the pitch bigger
              - don't dribble when playing 10 men or less

The problem is we don't know how to manage games fullstop.

yikes!! For me, it doesn't matter if I like the person or not I try not to let my bias get in the way. Sometimes people are right, sometimes people are wrong... goes for all of us. Take every points individually no matter who it comes from. He makes some good points imo

I think it goes to our mental fragility this season in general, as soon as a team gets a goal back or even momentum... we just seem to shrink, panic seems to spread like a virus and you get that feeling of here we go again kinda thing. Playing vs 9 men and them managing to get 8 shots in the last 20 mins & we had 0. Also, 11 touches in our box and 47 in the final third & we had 0 & 0. It's some crazy stats vs 9 men. I would hazard a guess that the mental side of any elite level sport is pretty huge but yeah I never played at a high level of any sport either.

From what he said there is a way to play against 10 or less and we didn't do that.

He makes the jump that it's due to mental weakness but not so sure about that.. may well be but have to also ask the question about the coaching too. All teams will feel fear in that scenario, it's the coaches job to have a gameplay ingrained in them so fear or not they still do the right things.

I hope Slot and the players learned from it.

Widening the pitch and stretching out the play 100% is the way to play vs 10 men and most certainly 9 men and we didn't do that. Holding on to possession and making those 9 or 10 men work is most certainly the way to play it and we didn't do that either. The mentality thing is not with just this game, it has been a bit of a theme this season unfortunately when we've struggled to cope we holding leads or when teams put us under pressure.
