I just watched the 1st half again & no wonder Chiesa scored so low in the ratings. I’ll estimate 75-80% of our attack went down the left side .Chiesa was making runs but being ignored time & time again. I thought he linked up ok with Frimpong when given a chance & with all the games we’ve got in January I hope we give him more starts.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

not to sound all Nigel but lookin at the lineup we desperately need some HG players.Originally posted by Slinky Skills View PostMorgan Rodgers, get this lad signed he'll make all the difference to us.
First team we must only have:
Bradley
Robertson (for now)
Frimpong
Jones
Rio (at a push)

I agree with the need for more homegrown players I have said for a while that the lack of them are influencing squad building. As non HG players are at capacity.Originally posted by ric.williams View Postnot to sound all Nigel but lookin at the lineup we desperately need some HG players.

Our current HG players are: Gomez, Bradley, Jones, Frimpong, Woodman and then some over age youngsters such as Rhys Williams, who are unlikely to play, so realistically there are 3 unused HG spots.
Robertson doesn't count as HG as his development was in Scotland which is a different association. There is also mention that Ramsay doesn't count as HG as we loaned him to Scotland last season, whereif he stayed in England he would have gained HG status.
Rio, Nyoni, Bajcetic, McConnell, Danns etc, would all eventually count as HG but don't need to be registered in the squad until the season after they turn 21, so can be considered bonus players.
Were Elliott to come back he would be HG as would Guehi and Semenyo if we were to sign either of those. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I only watched the highlights, which of course can be very misleading, but I thought going forward we offered a lot more than previously. Wirtz and Frimpong in particular look like they are finding their own and actually both able to get through low blocks. Salah is going to have to work hard to get his place back if Frimpong stays fit. Yes, familiar weakness at the back, but we could have had 3-5 in this game, in which case we'd barely be thinking about conceding 1. I'm a little more optimistic now than many of you, I guess.Really?

- in the first half we were mainly static and passing the ball around in front of a low block, except for the couple of minutes where we scored the goals and the moments where we hit the woodwork; and
- in the second half Wolves were much more open and we had a few moments but generally we both had less control, less goal threat and less passing about, and Wolves threatened more.
