But surely that's what you want our future captain to be saying Slinks?
He's not Roy Hodgson who'd not only agree but then spend 5 minutes waxing lyrically about Declan Wice.Glass Half Full

Agreed. In my mind, they rest on 1) being first choice if everyone is fit, 2) consistently performing to his individual standards, 3) able to inspire others, whether through words or actionsOriginally posted by Mark79 View PostSzoboszlai's importance and contribution has been much wider than being an attacking midfielder.
He gives us so much with his stamina, off the ball and covering spaces for other players.
The merits for him being captain don't rest on goals and assists imo.
He ticks all three boxes

Arsenal this season have usually come out slow for the first half an hour or so but tonight imo they'll come out helter skelter & see do our arses fall out. If we are going to get anything out of this which would be a minor miracle the way we are playing.. we need to get through the initial onslaught & then simply not give away any free kicks, corners, throw in our half for the entire match or else Gabriel is going to score a hat trick. I see our box getting absolutely bombarded with crosses.

Yes Arsenal should win and as mentioned above, I think if they get an early goal then we could be in for a long day. They will then surely close up shop, flood the midfield, stop the game a load and then hit the likes of Saka on the break to hurt us. Saka against Kerkez could be a ****in nightmare imo and I hope that Robertson makes the line up.
To play devils advocate though, if we were to get the first goal, then it is likely that the crowd could start to feel the pressure. And the fact that arsenal won't be then able to play their Stoke+ gameplan will help us too.
Our players have been ****in ****e this season. And so has the manager. But this is definitely an opportunity to prove that these players are not ****in finished and that the team can ****in do things. Would be a brilliant time for the likes of Wirtz to prove that he has arrived at Liverpool. And would also be a good time for the likes of Macca, Konate and Virgil to prove that they aren't ****in finished yet either.
****in come on
