Man City home Sunday 8th February at 430pm

City have a midweek match vs Newcastle on Wednesday so here’s hoping for ET & a few injuries coming their way. These are the matches that suit us better as we know City will come to play at least.

Same starting X1 most likely although I’d prefer to see Rio get a start but it won’t happen.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I'm hoping it's like one of those Klopp era maulings where Firmino was unplayable, with Wirtz putting in a similarly dominant display.

Yeah they’re there for the taking. Blowing a 2-0 HT lead against Spurs is funny & ironic

Isn't it EFL cup tie in which they are 2-0 up from the first leg, I imagine it will be a very different lineup from the one that will face us on Sunday.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yes they are but remember they did a Spurs on Spurs after leading 2-0 at HT on the weekend so an early Newcastle goal could make life interesting.

No Frimpong, Gomez not fit enough for 90.

We surely aren’t (we obvs are) going to play Dom at RB v City? Calvin Ramsay and Endo to hold HT orange segments and liniment on the bench as per. Either way is a gamble, but removing Dom from midfield and attack always feels wrong. Ramsay is inexperienced but Endo will do a solid job defensively.

              Curtis at RB?

Endo hasn't got the required pace to play RB in the prem. It was an ok risk against Qarabag (sp?) but he'd get rinsed against a PL winger.

Playing Dom at RB is our only option until Gomez is back to match fitness. Its not ideal, but it gives us solidity (thought he played very well against Newcastle, defensively) and with Macca, Grav and Wirtz we are still strong in midfield.

                  We’ll see.

In terms of the match it feels pivotal. We either prove we can kick on in terms of form, or we reinforce that we are a inconsistent rudderless basket case.

Fully expecting Pep to try and be clever with this one, play the low block and hit us on the counter with Haaland's pace.

Would seem the obvious move. He is good at RB and it keeps Szobo further upfield in his best position.

Only downer is it keeps a generally misfiring MacAlister in the team.

He might but then again he does not really have the players to do that and trying to switch to a low block takes a bit of time for a team to do it well.

Don't think Slot believes in Jones at RB, he's definitely not as good as Dom in that role. Can't see him switching what worked against Newcastle, but you never know.

If we were to play inverted full backs, we wouldn't have a problem at right back.

Putting either Endo or Ramsey up against Semenyo isn’t going to end well IMO
