Don't know who was blocked, but recall Maxi Rodríguez lied about speaking English to get a move to Liverpool, all he knew was hello at the time LOL.

Oh, Nemanja Vidić kind of self blocked his transfer to Liverpool because he felt his English wasn't good enough, that actually allowed Manchester United to slide in a buy him

It would be nice if we had another CB option so we don't have to throw him in at the deep end, he's still played relatively few senior games, I think some time to find his feet may be needed. But with VVD having been away at the WC and Gomez with his injury issues our only other senior CBs (and Leoni still needing time to recover from his injury) I am a bit concerned that he wouldn't get that opportunity and that we will be forced to play him, when it might not be the best thing to do for him or us.
