Job done. We saw off the early pressure but once we got the first goal we pretty much dominated them.

    3-0 Curtis, Dom & Mo

Yep if they’d had VAR it would have been overturned

Only saw the second half but that looked very comfortable. They didn’t do anything with the ball and it was bit similar to midweek. Comfortable and controlled performance.

Does it look like they’re trying to play with less of the ball so they have more space to attack when they get it back.

The second goal was absolutely beautiful. Gakpo played his part and the touch from Mo to Szoboszlai to smash it home.

          Rio unlucky that looked onside.

If you catch the highlights of the villa Newcastle game, look at Digne's handball, given as a free kick outside the box but was actually miles inside. I think VAR has made on field officials worse.

First 20 or so was poor but we were excellent for the majority after that I thought. To go ve him his dues Salah played much, much better than we've seen for ages

Dom fabulous, Kerkez had a great game and thought Gakpo did well at ST. Only slight let down was Chiesa, didn't do anything of note that I can remember

              Much better
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Just saw a replay of it. Absolutely ridiculous decision. It wasn’t even close.

And the Villa keeper how did he stand there and complain to the ref about the red.

You might be right but there were still some extremely dubious decisions given pre VAR

People hate on VAR but if you took it away now it would be a complete disaster, between **** standards which seemingly have worsened due to reliance on technology there is no going back now.

How the **** the Villa one wasn't given as a pen I'll never know Digne didn't even walk out of the penalty area after the incident, one of the worst decisions I've seen in a while, and there were a few others I that game.

Officials are so reliant on VAR to bail them out they don't k ow how to do their job anymore
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yeah definitely agree. You could tell by how long it took the lino to put his flag up for Gakpo’s no goal.

What was the hood up with the flag going up for Gakpo's disallowed goal? Were the ref and linesman discussing it, because there's no way he decided that on his own 10 seconds later

Yeah I couldn’t work that out too. Bizarre

                              Great atmosphere as well.
I think lots of it is down to the fans who only get a chance at attending cup matches so sing wherever they're sat which is infectious.
I had my FIL's ticket again and had two welsh lads next to me instead of the usual lower centenary library occupants. They spent the whole match either singing or vaping. Terrible voices mind.

Yeah true the atmosphere sounded brilliant from the off. Wasn’t sure if it was because of extra mics around the ground or a genuine increase in volume.
