CL 1/4 Finals PSG away Wednesday 8th April at 8pm

Play for a draw & hope for a win will be Arne’s plan I suspect. Hard to get excited with him in charge though.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

We have to park the bus to try to keep the score respectable. Unbelievable how far we have fallen so quickly.
    Never knowingly optimistic

A champions league quarterfinals should be an exciting time but it’s not there right now. It’s hard to be excited or positive about this one or any game to be honest.

I could see a similar game to the first leg last year but without the ridiculous game Ali pulled off.

Let’s hope there is a response after the FA cup game but I don’t see it and if there it is will just be a temporary moment like we’ve seen this season on a few occasions. This team looks done mentally more than ever before.

I'm dreading this, if they saw us against City they will be smelling blood and view this as a chance to put the tie to bed in the first leg, also they have been able to rest players and are a better side than us and are on form. It will be a massive upset if this is anything other than a comfortable win for them.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Don't think we can do that tbh. PSG are probably the last team you would want to encourage onto you.

Fair enough if they force the play and push you back as a team, but dropping deep and ceding 10 or 20 yards to them just let's their pace all over the pitch link up and go at you in waves.

Won't happen but would drop Salah straight away as PSG have far too much pace on their left flank for us to be carrying a passenger.

Would start Rio or even Frimpong on our right flank and have Gomez at RB behind them. In Mendes, PSG have a left back that will be able to keep up with Rio or Frimpong but at least they would be able to pin him back a bit with their own pace rather than Salah looking like a statue.

They have similar pace at RB in Hakimi so we need pace and/or the ability to dribble on our left flank.

Would be going with Kerkez at LB and Wirtz in a LAM type role. If I was going to gamble with something we have never done I would go with Robertson at LB and Kerkez as a LM.

Midfield for me would be Gravenberch, Szobo and Jones. Just would not have MacAllister near the starting line up against a midfield as mobile and physical as that of PSG.

Unfortunately we have no choice with our CB picks so would have to be Konate with VVD. VVD has dropped off something rotten, by his own past standards, but is still capable of good performances whereas Konate seems to be back to that terrible form from the first half of the season. Though would be a good game for Konate to decide to want to put himself in the shop window for the summer.

If I see MacAllister, Salah and Gakpo starting on Wednesday, I will be expecting that lack of pace and agility (and of course very slow progressing of play from all three these days so they are as slow in the pass as they are in their movement) to come home to roost.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Agree Salah shouldn’t be starting but I still expect he will. Slot has hasn’t done it since he’s been back with no signs of his form picking up so why would he now.

I think it will be similar to the City game but Jones out for Mac Allister as Slot doesn’t fancy Jones anymore and probably only started the last one because Mac Allister was away on internationals.

              I could see this.
              Mama
              Frimpong Konate VVD Kerkez
              Mac Allister Gravenberch Szoboszlai
              Salah Ekitike Wirtz

With it being similar to the 4222. Although I could see him picking Robertson for the experience he has. Watch us have a good 20 minutes then stop playing concede and crumble again.

It’s all to predictable in terms of team selection and performance.

I’ll be settling in at Kyoto so I’ll probably not watch it either. I didn’t bother with a VPN so I’ll check in here most likely.

I'll be in bed asleep at 4am because like **** am I getting up at that hour to watch the ****e this bald prick of a manager we have has these players serving up.

PSG will absolutely pump us anyway. Expecting at least 4-0 especially with no Ali bailing us out of trouble.

You never know. Hopefully MacAllister and Grav will play well and ekitike will be out to prove himself back in Paris. Hopefully Wirtz steps up too and the cl suits him. We have the players to hurt anyone on our day

But we have the form that can go against us against any team as well. If this goes bad, then we are ****ed and Enrique seems to have that Guardiola magic ability to have a team peak right at the business end of a season. Must have learned that in Barcelona.

                      Let's be positive

Isak may be back and with Ekitike and Wirtz up front too we could be a handful.

Dom Grav and Macallister in midfield and then 4 at the back who knows

However the reality will be , he will pick gapko and salah and Jones...

I wouldn’t be surprised if we show up for this and then lose to Fulham.

                          100%

The more confident we are as fans the worse we play the more we think we will get battered the better we perform.

Also, teams like Fulham, Man U etc won’t have had a game in three weeks.
