    The demand is always there.

Be it for season tickets or single game tickets. Hell the demand for boxes etc is huge too.

If people give up their tickets in protest the same seats will be snapped up in no time at all and the waiting lists will still be thousands and thousands in length.

The more I think about it, the more a Red wall/heart/soul section or sections makes sense to me. 20,000 (or more) seats in Anfield that have to remain local for life and that go for a "local" price compared to the rest of the seats in the stadium.

It makes for good PR, it ensures a large local element inside the stadium, it keeps a level of fairly affordable access for locals, it adds a bit of romance in amongst the hard nosed finances and it creates a base of amongst that local section from whom a % may decide over time, personal financial circumstances allowing, to buy tickets for themselves in the more expensive parts of the ground thus freeing up their old tickets for other locals to get into the ground.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

The ‘local’ seats are effectively season tickets surely. They are more widely spread around the ground since the Kop went all seater, but the season tickets are largely held by locals in my experience. How the club address who really controls the season tickets and who attends the matches should be addressed as a priority.

Owning a Season Ticket is the most affordable way to attend games. They should implement a minimum use policy for the actual holder and only allow a certain number of transfers through the season to other individuals. A recent survey suggested that, but I’m not sure if it went anywhere.

I’m originally a Wool, so would baulk at the idea of a Liverpool or Merseyside section only for locals. My folks still live in the Liverpool City Region and they are <10 miles as the crow flies from the ground. The farthest flung parts of Merseyside could be more than 15 miles away. So apart from the dubious assumption that ‘locals’ are better/louder supporters than non-locals, using the geopolitical boundaries when someone from Newton-Le-Willows (essentially a pie-eating Manc) is considered more worthy than say someone from Runcorn is a bit mad to me. Apologies in advance to LFC fans on here who lives in WA12!!

There’s a waiting list for boxes? I thought they were somewhere in the region of seven figures per season.

I think ticket prices (not corporate ****** rooms) be subsidised by the hideous amounts of money made through TV revenue and sponsorships.

Also replica kit prices are a piss take.

This is ultimately a result of the commercialisation of football and no salary caps.

Footballers are paid a sickening amount of money at the top end and they will go elsewhere to get better wages hence wages correlates with success on the pitch for the most part and thus we have the trade off between sporting success and revenue generation, a small part of it being tickets.

Maybe some of the scouse LFC fans never asked for it but the reality is their club has become one of the biggest in the world and that comes with these pressures.

It’s not a nice outcome but unfortunately I think it’s an inevitable one

How do our Season ticket prices compare to the other bigger clubs in the league? Competitively priced, less than the norm, or extortionate?

Found this online for next season. Is the list of entry level season ticket prices so some of the club's below us on the list are more expensive for some of the other season ticket pricing points . The clubs that have not announced their prices yet have this season's price .

Every Premier League club's cheapest season ticket for 2026/27
                      1. Arsenal: £967
                      2. Chelsea: £880 (2025/26)
                      3. Tottenham Hotspur: £856

                      7. AFC Bournemouth: £694
                      8. Manchester United: £646

                      15. Leeds United: £510
                      16. Coventry City: £500
                      17. Fulham: £500 (2025/26)
                      18. Manchester City: £425
                      19. West Ham United: £345 (2025/26)

The Man City one made me laugh though. That price and still they have loads of empty seats each game despite often listing games are total sell outs. Then again tickets being sold to "someone" still counts as the ground being sold out I suppose.

I would have assumed City's fee as the amount they pay someone to turn up to wave their plastic flags at each home match!

I thought that arsenal's were more than that to be honest. Perhaps the cheapest is very limited numbers of seats at that price.

You wonder what the price point is for a lot of people to give up their season ticket. I have a friend that built up loyalty in cup competitions when we were ****e under Rodgers. Went to all of the carabao and europa league games and managed to join the autocup scheme. Now he essentially has a season ticket for all the cup and champions league games but has to make sure he goes to all of them as of he breaks his service, he is ****ed!!! Perfect scenario for him.though tbh. I know a few season ticket holders that don't go to the cup games already - mainly due to price.

So it will be interesting to see if the price increases result in the season ticket waiting list changing much.

I dunno if I’ve just become so used to paying a ****ing fortune for everything, but £740 for 19 football matches seems really reasonable

It is imo, but the flip side is that is the lowest price for a season ticket and have no idea how many are available at that particular price as there are conflicting reports.

Plus many may not have £734.50 to spend in one go or be able to attend 19 games. Not counting travel costs, food or drinks or whatever.

Now make 15k seats available each game for £38.75 each (roughly what each game costs with a season ticket) and try to make sure those tickets go to locals and you then get the local element and lower priced tickets the protesters are after.

You can still then have another 34k in season ticket holders (what we currently have), which will be a mix of season tickets starting at £734.5 up to the higher ones.

There are still another 22k worth of seats in the ground that can go to the dirty Irish, Scots, Scandinavians and all the other OOTs. All sold at the price tiers for the 26/27 season .

What does catch the eye is that 20% of all current tickets on a match day are hospitality tickets/seats.

It would not be a perfect solution but generally a good compromise is one where no party gets everything they want.

Average prices would be a better indicator. The £740 price is probably for a partially obscured seat
