He's a very good player and has a lot of heart.
I wouldn't be against him playing for Liverpool, it's just that he's not as good as Stevie, Xabi or Momo, and he sure ain't a Didi either which is what the squad is missing in the middle at the momment so I wouldn't see the point in signing him.

Thought he played well, put himself about and his passing was nice n sharp.
I'm a big fan of his.

Gerrard was played ridiculously deep for me. Its as if Rafa stays up at night thinking of ways to nullify his influence. Zenden was Barton's opponent in midfield.

As such, Barton playing well doesn't really say a lot.

If we want a box to box central midfielder then Reo-Coker is a much better player. His short passing in particular is exceptional and he is a genuine leader on the pitch. Barton is a decent player but I really don't see him as Liverpool class.

I'd only take Barton if we swapped him with Zenden! Our other midfielders are in a different class to Barton. Didn't think Barton played particularly bad today...just not good enough to get in our midfield with Sissoko, Alonso and Gerrard.

thought barton was piss yesterday if i'm honest, he did **** all, we played very badly in the first half, and i hardly noticed him, he raised his game a little in the second half about the same time as stevie did, and lets say i didn't notice him after that neither...
