    Carra in the back three

To me it looked as though we played a back three in the second half with Hyypia on the right, Agger in the middle and Carra on the left.

That baffled me somewhat. Carra looked damn uncomfortable during the some City attacks when he was pulled out to the left side.

Agger was again superb on the ball today so I guess Rafa wanted him in the middle to be in a position to bring the ball out and start the LIverpool attacks from deep. That's my take on it anyway.

It seemed to change a lot all through the match to be honest. It was 3 at the back for most of the match, but it looked to me like Agger started left Hyypia middle and Cara right, with Agger switching to the middle and Sami left for a little bit when Hyypia got skinned through the middle.

But my main worry was that we didn't seem to have any structure, we seemed all over the place in the way that the players didn't seem to know their positions.

Just finished watching it again on Football First and we definitely played a back 3 all game. Morph was right though, the positions kept changing. Carra was on the right at the start of the 2nd half but was on the left for at least the last 30 mins or so.

I thought Carra looked solid today. Was impressed with the way he shielded the ball and dealt with attacks from Citeh. Hopefully a sign that he has turned the corner (as, by the way, I think Reina has done)

Carra is past it..... he has been poor all season.

Most of the goals we have conceded are down to his errors.

He has lost the spring in his legs, always falling over and failing to win headers!

I've said it before.... we have seen the best of him. 2004-2006 he was one of the best in the league.

            Sorry lad!

Why are people always so ready to write off players? The lad is going through a tough spell but he'll pull through.

I just can't agree that he's past his best. You have a point in the fact he hasn't been at his best but neither has 90% of the team, and that's why we're in the position we're in.

As NickZS said, Reina is a player getting his game together. Can't comment on City match, didn't see much but he was confident when coming for the ball against PSV. As the pundits said at the time 'he looks a different player'. His confidence can now spread to the defence and in turn to the midfield (incedently looks like that Gerrard might not have to be sold anymore now that he's improving) and on to the strikers.

I think we're begining to get it together but now have to cope with injuries.

Interesting to see that we're capable of different formations. Three at the back could help when teams just defend against us and we have to break them down.

I think the players are finally starting to shake their World Cup Blues.

Very few players from the World Cup have done much this season. Even the stars from Barca, Chelski, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Arsenal have shown little form

The only exception is Ronaldo from Utd, and even there, it's the likes of Scholes and Giggs that have led the way.

The WC interrupted the pre season for most players. It just proves how important this period is, especially for the senior players

He didn't. He did play on the right side of a 3 man defence however in the first half. He switched to the left side of a flat four defence, when Rafa introduced Pennant (who was surprisingly decent).
