The latest round of talks regarding the takeover of Liverpool FC will take place this week after last weeks negotiations failed to bring about an agreement.

It is being suggested that John Miskelly is the favourite to take control of the club, due to his bid having been the closest to David Moores's asking price of £300 million.

American billionaire George Gillett and the Dubai Investment Corporation are still in the running, and it has emerged that the former Oxford chairman, Robin Herd, is heading a group who are also interested in buying David Moore's shares in the club.

If Moores is asking for £300m, bearing in mind there is £80m odd of debt, how much will be left for the club to spend in the transfer market and on the new stadium?

Sounds like Moores is out to make as much money as he can.

Zico says it´s a done deal and we´ll get enough to buy one or two big names a year, I think, can´t be arsed to double check, he said that it will be done by mid-december.

The thing is, it's more vague nonsense from Zico. What he says is :

'Moores has decided to sell. It's a done deal. The only question is, which of the three (not four) bids will be accepted. We will know by Mid December.'

Lots of rumours flying around Anfield this weekend, without much substance and a little contradiction. Removing the "I want to make a name for myself" posters from the equation, reliable lad on ynwa heard Moores had sold out to Gillett and someone else there said they knew someone at a London solicitor's working on due dilligence for Gillett. Another lad on RAWK (not posted though) heard Saturday it's down to Miskelly and Gillett and the meeting to discuss it takes place tomorrow. On TTWAR a lad spoke to two ex-players who work at Anfield and were flying out to La Manga yesterday and they said it's Gillett taking over.

Gillet was at the club last Thursday - Duncan seems to have cottoned onto this after being posted on a couple of other sites though.

Trawling the various sites and the bull sh!t levels are flying through the roof.

1. Dunk is leading the charge with his exclusive on Gilette Jnr being shown around Melwood last week by Moores and Parry. People are hilariously asking Zico if he's heard the same.

2. One lad on RAWK claims that Kraft has bought 49% of LFC's shares and it will all be announced this coming week. Rushian has dismissed the rumour, as we all should.

3. Another lad on RAWK claims that the ex owner of the Harlem globe trotters has bought the club.

4. And finally, some lad on YNWA has announced that Gillet has bought the club and there will be an announcement made in the next day or so. This has been backed up by another poster saying that it will be announced in 2 weeks or so...

One of the above may actually be true of course but as with everything to do with investment it is best if you take it with a huge bucket of salt.

Incredibly slow. Global containerboard prices are softening and as a result the corrugators are waiting to see prices drop before committing to new orders.
