    Pre-Match Build Up - Pompey 29 Nov 2006

LFC4ever suggested we do this like some of the other sites, and no one else seems to want to do it so why not see how it goes tonight?

There will be a thread for pre-match chat (this one, which is a little late now), then a confirmed team and match thread (when the team is anounced) and then a post match thread. Save everything going all over the place.

So any thoughts about tonights game?

I think it will be another tight match. P'mth impressed me so far in the league and they might well come out with a point tonight if Pool don't force the issue from the start. A tight 1-0 win for us.

I think the key to beating these tonight is down the flanks, not sure who they've got a left back for tonight, but most of their options are all injured. And their right hand side isn't much better, just a pity we haven't got Gonzo tonight I think he would have come good tonight.

            There was one thread running

But without the right headings, they tend to get missed,

Hopefully in time the new headings will just be part of the furniture and be second nature to look for them to post our thoughts.

They have recalled O'Brien from his loan move so they are short on defence.

Not that he's likely to improve them..

I'd go for Agger myself but I've got a feeling it'll be big Sami!!!
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

"The first name that came into my head to replace Bolo was Sami, honestly," he said.

"People have been saying that Daniel's emergence might mean the end for Sami, but maybe Sami can play as a holding midfielder. I need to check whether he has the tactical movement and awareness you need playing there, but it's not difficult.

"You just need to be clever. What do you need to do? In Argentina, it's their number 5, a holding midfielder who's a centre back playing a bit higher. I've spoken to him two or three weeks ago about that. Now I just need to think about which option to take."

                      Be a bit a shock wouldn't it?
"Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

I'd like to see Peltier play there. If he's good enough let him play there against Gala next week and even Fulham as well.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

Did anyone else see on the offal, when Rafa was asked about Carra playing in midfield he said "Perhaps Agger and Carra could play there together, with Gerrard as a second striker" - mischief maker that man
BTW - good idea this thread title and all

I've just watched the Cup Final MOTD, so am supremely motivated for this match. Let's **** them.
