Rafael Benitez has made just one change to his starting eleven for tonight's Premiership clash with Portsmouth but we still don't know who'll partner Steven Gerrard in the centre of midfield.

Jermaine Pennant for the injured Bolo Zenden is the only change as the guessing game continues as to who will be asked to occupy the other central midfield role.

Youngsters Danny Guthrie and Nabil El Zhar are named among the substitutes.

Team in full: Reina, Finnan, Riise, Hyypia, Agger, Carragher, Gerrard, Pennant, Garcia, Crouch, Kuyt. Subs - Dudek, Fowler, Guthrie, Paletta, El Zhar.

Aye, read that earlier. It appears whoever organised that team on the net has assumed Carra will start in midfield.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see - it could be any one of the three centre-halves.

Rafa's been hinting so hard at Sami that it's got to be Carra, which of course means that it will be Agger.

Carra in midfield is the correct call by Rafa.

Would have preferred Agger. Expect more square balls than Alonso has been putting in lately. Coupled with the fact that Portsmouth have tricky wingers i'd prefer a settled line up at the back.

Should be said (if not already) that Portsmouth are decimated with injuries as well. No excuses.
