Fergie took the same stick from the fans & the media, in the end it took him 7 years (7 fukkin years) before all the kids he had recruited turned into a league winning team, Becks, Giggs, Neville(s), Scholes etc were all very young lads who he brought to the club & moulded into a side set to dominate for 10+ years. You don't win nothing with kids - hahahahaha!!!!!!
Rafa is also building for the future, and hopefully will have found the right youths to set us up for years as well, meanwhile we have won the CL & FA Cup in the first two years, Fergie won an FA cup in year 5, it's all relative, and as for how relative, go check Fergies record & league position finish for the the first 5 years, it is truly awful compared to what is expected today, and this is the crux - expectations, we have qualified for the CL for the last 2 years, won a cup in each year, and yet there are those that still doubt he is the man??
FFS, gafg of yourselves will yer, we are Liverpool, not the barcodes who change managers on a whim.
We have good days, we have bad days, deal with it.

Speedy... are you Rashid in disguise?

Yes, a fair post. But have you had a look at our future. Its flimsy at best. Few decent prospets though, but the likes of the manu revoultion will rarely happen again i..e Nevellies Giggs, Beckham et al. A true one off there IMO.Originally posted by lfc4ever View PostFergie took the same stick from the fans & the media, in the end it took him 7 years (7 fukkin years) before all the kids he had recruited turned into a league winning team, Becks, Giggs, Neville(s), Scholes etc were all very young lads who he brought to the club & moulded into a side set to dominate for 10+ years. No justification needed. Joke of a post.Originally posted by Speedy View PostBENITEZ OUT!
Call me rash or whatever, but we deserve a manager who can give us a shot at the league. Benitez hasn't got a clue in that repsect. I've got my tin hat ready, but i'd like the decent posters to answer me why he should STILL be manager.
Thanks for the memories Rafa, but no thanks.
Rafa has made his mistakes - who hasn't, but along with Stevie he's the main reason this club can look forward with confidence to the future. Once the results improve I'm sure we'll hear a lot less from this poster.I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

Bingo is all I can say to that. I hope some investment bollocks happens soon so some people can concentrate on something else but coming up with ludicrous posts of wanting to sack the manager. Must say, what's O'Neill ever done in Europe with Celtic? I admire him as a manager, but that's about it. Rafa is the man for the job, if we had a fully fit squad maybe things would be different as Rafa'd have 'more possibilities'. Who knows where we'd be. Who knows what we'd be playing like had we got primary targets, it's all ifs/coulda/woulda/shoulda bollocks that gets you nowhere. We're here, right now with Rafa and the players who are fit and all we can do is make the best of it.Originally posted by lfc4ever View PostWe have good days, we have bad days, deal with it.
Hope also January comes around soon, another feast of threads should pop up there, always causes huge amusement

The O'Neil thing's just silly. Things are a bit pants and we're nowhere near where we want to be. but luckily everyone else in the league barring the top 2 are just as bad and with the players we have we will have a good run at some point this season.
Its a bit bollocks, but looking in the longer term its not even close to a disaster yet, people need to chill just a little. And anyone saying "Benitez out" already is a simpelton. The last 2 seasons he's earnt the right to be allowed to try and sort it out, frustrating though it may be.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

Granted we're not challenging for the title the way some people thought we would, but to talk of sacking Rafa now is lunacy.

Sacking him will not happen. He earned a decent shot at it by winning number 5. He has two big problems though.
- He is very inflexible. Worryingly so. He never changed the formation at all tonight which made it very comfortable for Pompey. Why not take off Sami and leave Garcia on? How could it hurt. We should be going for it at home but instead we played with 5 defenders with limited attacking ability for 95 minutes.
- Where is the passion? We can take bad results but the team don't look arsed! Tapping the ball around the back with 10 minutes left is bollox against a team with no attacking intentions. All except Stevie need a rollicking. Shanks would have had them all in the reserves after tonight!
Sort it out Rafa.
