Have nothing to add to this thread that hasn't already been said...
But I'll say it anyway - what a load of ****ing bollocks
Well said
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs
Would you have accepted us at the start of the season to have taken 22 points from 15 games, 1 away goal (a penalty) and the most dour football we've probably ever played? We were being touted as title contenders, we're ****ing 16 points of the Mancs already (9 of the relegation zone btw), instead we're a shambles. I'm ****ing annoyed with the situation. Is sacking Rafa the right thing to do? I'm not sure, but all i know is things HAVE to change.
Sack Rafa eh ?.....Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha !!!
This is a joke thread right ?
God I hope Rafa dosent ever visit this site, he might get the impression some red fans are a bit fickle.
The real problem lies with at Boardroom level IMO. We are still run like an old family corner shop, but there are new modern shopping complexes opening up all around us (i.e. Chavs and Arsenal).
We need to move with the times, and we need to move quick. Rick Parry has more to answer for IMO than Rafa.
Once we get it right with the club ownership Rafa will be able to deliver us a footballing experience we all dreamed of when he took over - yes we do need an investor who can make us compete financially for players with the likes of Chelsea and Utd rather than Boro.
Leave Rafa alone - he has worked wonders and we will still get it right THIS season!!

Good post. There needs to be change at the top ASAP, Parry has done all he can.
Call me rash or whatever, but we deserve a manager who can give us a shot at the league. Benitez hasn't got a clue in that repsect. I've got my tin hat ready, but i'd like the decent posters to answer me why he should STILL be manager.
Thanks for the memories Rafa, but no thanks.
Ok let me try and find some reasons:
1. Less than 2 years since we won the Champions League
2. Current FA Cup Holders
3. Have dropped 8 league points at Anfield out of our last 72
4. Thanks to his recruitment drive we won the FA youth cup for the first time in 10 years
5. We achieved 82 points in the league last season; since the league went back to 20 teams; that would have equalled or won the league in 95/96; 97/98; 98/99 and 2000/2001
6. He's been here less than 2 1/2 seasons and either won or made it to the final of every cup competition we have entered
7. This has been our best ever start to the Champions League
8. I read somewhere that he has spent the net amount of £25 million on players since his arrival; compare that to Chelsea (£275 million - or an average of £12.5m per player in a 22 man squad) or the scum (Rooney - £30m; Ferdinand - £30m; Ronaldo - £15m; Carrick - £18m; Saha - £12m); or even Arsenal where there is always talk about how well Arsene has done on a limited budget, but whenever he has wanted an expensive player - Henry; Pires; Walcott; Reyes; Hleb; Rosicky and the rest - his board have backed him
9. He knows we can't compete in the market, so he has put together a collection of probably the most talented youngsters in the league with a view to the future
10.Rafa doesn't complain about lack of funds, but it is killing us.
At the moment I agree that he can't lead us to the title; but I don't think there is anyone around who can.
You say we deserve a manager who can give us a shot at the league; I say we have one, but we deserve a board that can give him the means to make it happen.
"The definition of insanity is not running into the same wall again and again; it's expecting a different result every time you do it."
I totally agree with the above. This is not just a blip, it's far worse than that. Our football is atrocious, it really is. The second half yesterday was as bad as anything I can remember under Ged. I want to believe Rafa can get us out of this mess but the more performances I witness like the one last night makes me wonder whether he can. Time will tell..
Agree, I don't like to make comparisons and have belief that Rafa can do the job. However I am growing more concerned about our form. I don't mean just the results, if we were playing well and losing then ok. But the style we are playing and the way we are playing is extremelly dull. Our only form of attack seems to be long balls to Crouch, or the deep crosses into Crouch. If this is all we are going to rely on then we'll struggle. It's far too obvious and easy to deal with. Defenders know our game plan and prepare for the aerial ball to deal with. We lack variation and creativity. We lack cohesiveness and we don't attack like a unit. That's what I really expected from Rafa and during the early stages we saw some of that, however that's changed IMO.
Not to mention our summer signings have flopped (until now, that can change however). Bellamy has struggled to get any sort of form going, Gonzalez looks a patch on the player I saw tear apart Real Madrid and Pennant looks the average player a lot of people thought he was. The only player to have made an impact and the only player who looks fit to wear the red is Dirk Kuyt.
Funny thing is, people wanted players with Premiership experiance. We got 2 and yet they have looked average in the Premiership. Having watched Alves more this season I have to say we should of put in the extra cash for him. He really is a special player who seems to have grown over the last year. His performance v Valencia the weekend before was simply magical.

You are trying to reason with a madman, mate.
That is doomed to failure.
Decent writeup though.

Benny has to be given until the end of the season at least. I've not exactly been impressed this season, who has? I'm not wearing blinkers like a lot of people on here who would back Benny if he stuck Gerrard in goals and put Reina up front(you know who you are, and you're as bad as those calling for his head IMO).
I just think that he should have 5 years unless things became really awful, but I believe we'll finish 3rd, and we'll start all over again next season.
He has to pull his finger out though, thats for sure.
"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."
I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."
