    What's going on people?

I'm still finding it difficult to come to terms with the fact we have NO chance of winning the title, the Scum n Chelsea are so far away it's untrue.

Expectations were so high at the start of the season for several reasons:

    1. No summer talk about Gerrard wanting out.
2 Gonzo, Bellers and Pennant all brought in to give us some much needed pace and flair.
    3. Finally we got our hands on Dirk Kuyt arrived(he's been one of very few bright sparks 2 be fair).

It's so bloody depressing hearing about Chelsea, Man U, Man U, Chelsea, Chelsea, Man U, we should be up there with those 2, i've no doubt about it.

I mean United have 3 or 4 very special players in offensive positions whereas we've only 1 or 2 at best but other than that there is no reason why we shouldn't be up there with them,we 've got a far bigger squad for a start.

It's all gone horribley wrong, getting 4th place has to be the aim now but considering the expectations amongst the vast majority of Liverpool fans at the start of the season, that's a very sad state of affairs indeed.

What the hell is going on?

We had a bad start and now we're paying for it simple as that

I have a funny feeling we'll do very well next season, there seems to be a pattern to these things.

Our home record, despite a poor draw tonight, is still very good. When we sort out our away form we'll be fine.

Most of our shots are from positions you wouldn't expect us to score from. We just aren't creating proper, clear-cut chances.

              Is right.

              Pompey played 5-4-1 !! FFS!
It is tough to break that down, but we should have done that.
We are capable of it, even with the team we put out yesterday.

if the team had confidence yes we should be able to break down teams.

but last night they did defend well.

as soon as any player made a mistake the crowd were on thier backs.

we're yet to get a goal scorer to replace Owen.

Fowler and co got no service last night.
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

I'll judge that when we play a team of note. Villa apart we've played no one. What happens when Chelsea & co come to town? We're so predictable in everything we do. While we're busy laughing at one trick pony Ronaldo, Fergie is busy forming a great attacking game. Utd's defence is stronger and more mobile than ours. Their midfield has more buzz and the attack has flair. And thats AFTER selling their goal machine RVN. Luckily for me I didn't make the old mistake of writing them off with my mates, so I haven't got egg on my face like in previous seasons.

Fowler cut the mustard for us at the end of last season. I don't except he's finished within 6 months. The blow for him was the injury he got in pre season, history has told us in the past that without a full pre season he's playing catch up. Then throw in the fact he never gets to play and you end up with a lefargic looking Fowler. That finish against Reading was still the best goal any of our forwards has scored this year. Its catch 22, he needs a run of games to get going. But can we afford that? I think YES, since our results are **** whether he plays or not.

To be honest, id stick mainly with the strikers who will offer us a future and have some attributes like pace and presence. At the moment, Fowler doesnt offer anything really, cos his finishing is as bad as any other stiker at the club.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                          * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

I agree with you. Liverpool have not been able to deliver the goods against the likes of Chelseas, man u scum, arsenal etc this season or last(premiership). The standards have dropped, we might go on a THREE game unbeaten run every now and then, but we let ourselves down when we play any of the top teams. Its frustrating times. Either way You'll never walk alone!!!
