Thanjk you.

Sure, but obviously the more critical issue for us is whether we can incorporate him into our system and utilise him fully, isnt it?
Since it's what i said, why did you earler post "If you'd said...." ?
Seeing as i DID say, then i dont see what reason you had to post that 'if you said' comment earlier
Well the way you phrase it and try to start a debate makes a massive difference. If you ask people a simple question then you're going to get most sane people come out with variations on the same simple answer. In this case - **** no.
Best way to start a debate on something is to post your views, rather than some ridiculous hypothetical. I find it very strange that you chose to do it this way despite you saying you predicted the response.
Taking the cash to one side, would you accept replacing Alonso with a cahill-type of midfielder?
No. Alonso is a great player but he heas to be used in the right system. We have Gerrard to get forward and his is 50 times the player Cahill could ever dream of being.
The simple answer is we should have been playing 3-5-2 long before today. Maybe if we'd got Alves we might have been playing that system.

No offence mate, but i'm not surprised you've lost interest after that last comment i made. I DID say that, and then you comment 'if youd said...'...
I kinda invalidated your comment, so i kinda expected that you might've lost interest at that point
Not really. Its just that I'd rather watch football than argue with you over what is just a matter of semantics on a hypothetical subject. Knowing Cahill as I do (through his agent) he'd rather pull his teeth out than sign for us.

I wouldnt replace alonso with anyone. Hes the best passer in world football, and also has probably the sharpest footballing mind too. Cahill just runs his bollocks off.

TBH mate, it took a while after posting it, for me to be in a position to actually compose a post properly, with my own views. Internet usage at work is being clamped down on somewhat, so it makes composing a proper post with any sort of depth or content a bit difficult

That's a fair reply.
Basically, it does seem like IF we're playing 4-4-2 and we're playing Gerrard central, Alonso doesnt have enough in his locker to take Momo's place.
Obviously with the amount of games we play, you'd have a certain amount of rotation so they'd all get games.

That's fair enough Al.
But isnt a rather significant amount of the content on here based on SPECULATION and hypotherticals?
I'm not looking for an argument mate, just a polite exchange of opinions.

Alonso is terrific at what he does. I wonder if what he does is actually suited to how we play though.
As for Cahill, he pops up with quite a good amount of goals, in between the running
