I don't think we even need investment, we should just sack Rafa and all our problems will be solved

Clearly a bitter blue, were you hoping they were going to build you a new shed to play in? Not to worry, you can have your old ground back!

        :whatever:
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

        * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Look, it was Chelsea, or moreso Abramovich, who fundamentally changed the face of football to what it is today. I undertstand about history and tradition and they are values held strong by most Liverpool fans - and I include David Moores in that. But the simple fact of life is this - history and tradition do not allow us to compete with the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd on a financial basis. This takeover will and simply put - we have no choice. We haven't sold out - we have in fact sold in - sold in to competing for the very top honours. I'm not overly enthralled about foreign investment myself but DIC have the financial clout to compete with the Russian gun-runners and hopefully the common sense not simply to throw money away. The key question is this - would you rather 20-30 more years without a PL title and scraping the barrel for bargain basement players or do you want to be at the pinnacle of your game? I know which option I'd choose

We began selling out the day we put advertisements around the ground and sponsors names on our shirts.

What we are doing now is merely continuing that trend and moving with the times, and more importantly taking our heads out of the sand.

Anyone who wants us to continue as we are, and watch us slowly slip down through the leagues would be better off going away and forming " FC Liverpool"

I was listening to Graham Hunter on the radio this morning and he reckons this is a very good deal for Liverpool.

That the guy investing is football crazy and is constantly writing to Barca asking for Ronadinho pictures shirts etc......

That the guy is not just in it for purely business reasons just like he's not in horse racing for business reasons.

He has his business deals and though he won't want to lose money on LFC it will be more akin to pleasure then business.

                    Interesting.
That Graham Hunter Chaps seem to be very well informed every time I hear him talk, a very dilligent football man.

Yes, but Tom Cannon has been on Sky this morning saying we shouldn't get too excited, and he's a (gasp) PROFESSOR!! Specializing in Football Economics or something!

So he can't be a know-nothing bitter rent-a-quote, can he?

People said we sold out way back in the early 80's when we became the first club to get shirt sponsorship (Hitachi)

I suppose what I am saying is you either lead the herd or you are left to the wolves with the weak and the old
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I have said the same thing myself many times.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I agree. But it does put the final nail in the bitters hopes of a groundshare
