Sheik Mohamed is one of the few people on this planet planet who could refer to Roman Abramovitch, as being" reasonably well off"
Lawrenson:"Well thats 3 good chances they have had in the first 3 minutes of this half"

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"

Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

This is my first post on this site and I, too, am a refugee from a certain other site so pls go easy on me. I ve gotta agree with tommy smith and say that if DIC takeover goes ahead it will be the most significant decision the club has made since signing Mr. Shankly. This investment together with the tradtions, supporters and fan base, worldwide appeal puts the club on a new threshold of greatness.

How good will it be when new exciting youngsters appears on the scene and the club has the ability to bid for them? How good will it be that when Rafa wants to strengthen he is not constrained by "we have to win thru to the next round of the champions league for extra cash" type scenarios or having to settle for lower quality (Pennant) instead of getting what he wants (Alves).

It seems that the clubs future will not be hostage to things like champions league qualification every year or tied to a huge mountain of debt. LFC is too great a club to let money go to its head. I think its going to be a great ride.
"I watched the Champions League quarter-finals and the way they crushed Arsenal. Only the greatest and the best can play such a match.

He's just been on 5 Live speaking about the potential effects of the proposed takeover at LFC. I'm a big horse racing fan & Scott is known to have a pretty close relationship with Mohammed.

In a nutshell he reckons it will be good news for LFC. He says its more likely to be a business investment rather than something he will take a personal interest in. He doesn't think the Sheikh is a football fan, but many of his family are. He wouldn't expect him to appear often at LFC. The Sheikh spends most of his time in Dubai & would see LFC as a way of raising further Dubai's profile.

Perhaps most interestingly, Scott says Mohammed is a born winner, will not accept 2nd best & Scott says he has massive resources & will use them to make LFC the leading football 'brand' in the world. Scott feels he will take Abramovich head on & spend big to make us no.1.

Interesting times ahead to say the least.
I think the first sentence I highlighted is worth bearing in mind when reading the second. The fact that the two are contiguous may be unwittingly revealing.

Brough Scott needs to maintain his sources, eh? It's not worth risking them on a comment piece, is it?

I'm just counselling a little caution, that's all.
                      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

                        Old age tells you that

But its true we should have caution with any takeover.
