Yes Shanks was in the old Second Division and King Kenny took over after Heysl.
Not an easy time for either. Shanks had to stop us free falling through the divisions and Dalglish had to cope with the disappointment of No European Football.
Probably the fact that he has won the league with record totals the past 2 seasons means he has got there much faster, but seeing as the average cost of a chelsea player exceeds the record cost for any Liverpool player, that is not too surprising.
