Juande Ramos or Frank Riijkard and Lippi would be other people worth considering.

I think that Alardyce is the best English manager but he doesn't have experience of winning things and is tainted by the whole match fixing thing. He is also far from the quality of Hiddink or the other people mentioned here so I think we would have to go abroad.

South America produce some of the world's best players - why not tap into their coaching/managerial skills to?
It's my job to handle life and death situations on a daily basis. It's what I do, and I'm very good at it.

It was guillme Ballague that said it actually.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Have heard that Riikaard was heavily reliant on one of his assistants for technical/tactical moves (think he left this dummer for Ajax poss Henk Tenn Catt?) that's why they are "struggling" this year. Also dont know how he would cope without some world class stars such as Puyol, Eto'o deco and Ronnie etc.

He is a good manager, no doubting that, but my first reaction to him all I see is a short term solution to a long term job.

But Rafa has lots of years to create a Busby/Shankly/Ferguson era in front of him, with the building of a new stadium, with some financial clout, I can't see us needing a new manager in the very near future, I only hope & pray he's a 20 year manager!

O'Neill has not been good with identifying youth, nor setting up youth to come through from the reserves/youth teams.

for the sake of argument..I like Lippi. If he is available. His tactics in the WC showed ITALY as a major attacking force especially against Germany in the semi final. But then again he will have to learn Scouse.

The last part could have been said about Rafa without Vicente, Aimar, Baraja, Albelda etc. They don't seem to be doing too badly considering the focal point of their attack in recent seasons Eto'o is out, but if it is true then sure that means we bring in Henk Tenn Catt (possibly with a famous ex-player as a figure head to deflect the pressure from him).

                        Dalglish.
                        Hiddink seems to shop jobs.
                        Lippi could be an option.
