Would you still go the match each week if we were in a European Super League?

If we broke away from the Premier League and instead joined a European Super League playing the likes of Barca, Real, Milan, Inter and Munich each week I think I'd stop going the match.

I just don't have the will or mentality to get up for these games on a weekly basis. It's different when we play them in cup comps - as it's sudden death - and we obviously wanna progress. But each week? Nah - I don't think so.

    It's not for me.

It will take some getting used to. HOwvere th investment needed to compete at that level I fear could result in the super league being a franchise like american footy. No relagtion or promotion would probably kill the game

I would. Imagine Ronaldinho, Messi, Cannavaro, Kaka all playing at the New Anfield.
It'll be sold out every game.

Well I can't go to the match every week now but that's not through apathy.
There is no need for a european super league, we already have the most exciting league in europe (on it's day). Our top 4 clubs already cream off all the TV money. Our league would be the ones that would benefit LEAST from a european super league, the champions league is enough.

If it came to pass then I agree with H, I'd go to fewer matches and probably no away games.

it would take all the excitement out of football. if the top clubs only play each other it would get boring within the initial season imo. it would feel as plastic and fake as american professional sports

i hate the idea of liverpool not playing in the league

It would certainly make the away games more difficult to get to

That's it in a nutshell, every 2 weeks having to go out of the country etc, its a **** idea.

And watching a match is not all about the home team or home support, or even watching the match on the field, it's about the banter between the fans, the atmsophere at the game, the little battles that go on, derbies, Liverpool Vs Manchester rivalries, Battle of the Roses matches, North West vs London, beating the Barcodes again & again.

                  **** the Euro Super League.

I love the European Cup because it's unique, the perfect break from the weekly excitement of the League.

If you take that away and merge everything into a single competition, it will take half the enjoyment out of the season.

Yeah I'm sure I would. Not that I want this to happen either. But I'd still go.
