Ive seen him play a few times and he will be a Very, Very good player with the right coaching. Mate of mine is a city fan and says he is the best headerer of the ball he has ever seen and that includes players like big dunc. as for 20 mill, well he is english so what do you expect. if you want a good quality young english player you will have to pay over the odds

Ramos seems to be very overated, doesn't he normally play right back though.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

I think Ramos is very overrated. He's not bad, but he's probably not good enough to play for Real Madrid.

Richards looks like he will be the real deal to me. Got bags of potential and where better to realise it than under Rafa? As for £20m, well that''s silly money but that's the way football is going today.

He is 25 years of age though. I don't think you could consider him a "young defender"

Richards is expected to end up playing as a central defender. He is a big lad and versitile too (surely you saw him against us on the 25th of last month?) playing RB, RM & DM so far this season for citeh.

As for the 20m - seems a Chelsea price - more like 10m with add-ons if he achieves his potential.
It's my job to handle life and death situations on a daily basis. It's what I do, and I'm very good at it.

think richards has definitely got what it takes> Has all the attributes to make it in the modern game.

Ps Ramos???? i have seen this guy a dozen times and he had a blinder in one of the games, but has looked distinctly average in the others

I wouldn't play him at CB at the moment, but as a RB? Definitely. Ramos has a lot of talent.

agreed, the guy looks very promising, looks like he will be a very versitile, strong attack minded player.

Playing in a below average PL team makes him look better than he is, plus 1 half decent performance for Ingerlund doenst mean he is past the average stage

I've watched Vidic. He is a great tackler and in the air, but he still makes too many errors. Agger is definitely the better all round defender.

So is he really that good
He looks a reasonable prospect, that's all. Unfortunately some fans go mental over the latest flavour of the month player - Shaun Wright Phillips is a good example. Despite his being a flop at Chelsea he was getting the kind of praise Richards gets now when he was younger and some still would have him playing for us.

Let's see if Richards makes any real progress over the next year or two
