Why does the club need to have hostile relationships within it.
Its not a local v ooter thing at all mate, its far from it although typically the **** stirring daily post try to put that slant on it. Some people are being very paranoid thinking its a "Get rid off ooters" campaign but its nothing like that at all. Its about getting the Kop back to what it was and doing again what is consider the liverpool way. Its what seperated us from the rest but now we're just exactly the same as everyone again bar a European night.

Really, it is just a parallel to the state of football in general these days. And I am far too young to be able to patronise and lament about "the good old days", but even from following football in the '90s I have seen a massive change and football has gone through an ugly transformation. As far as I am concerned, Liverpool are still a shining light in an otherwise unsavoury "business" (which is a horrible term of reference for such a great sport), but we are going to have to accept that revenue and coverage is directly proportional to success these days. As far as the club is concerned it is absolutely necessary to charge high prices, produce ****loads of merchandise (although we have struggled with that one over the last fear seasons ) and milk the fans for as much money whilst introducing new prospective fans to Anfield. I haven't sat next to a scouser since the start of the season, and whilst it doesn't bother me in the slightest, it still shows the number of people making daytrips to Anfield on a "one-off". Of course they won't know the songs, of course they are not aware of "traditional etiquette", they haven't had enough experience to able to know what to do. But this is a trend that will not only continue but, with the building of the new stadium and potential investment, accelerate. I would love to see Anfield buzzing aside from a European night, but it just looks unlikely that RTK will be able to make much of a difference.

I'd prefer to see more ST holders sitting next to each other and PTS members sitting next to each other wherever they are in the ground i.e. pockets of regulars in the same place week in, week out. Let the tourists visit and let them experience the atmosphere (with obstructed views), but keep the core together to maintain the atmosphere. Quite simple really.

mate you make good points but there has to be some sort of solution to this and RTK is just one of them. how else will a new fan learn ?

I agree, its a step in the right direction, definitely. And its just nice to see the fans being so protective and pro-active in trying to maintain our heritage. But I can't help thinking that the load is just too much for such a small section of our support to bear.

I am a born pessimist though, so I am bound to be a negative ****

I agree to a point. When songs like Scouser Tommy start up hardly anyone knows the words. Songs like this are part of the atmosphere. Maybe there should be a song a week in the program so that the newer fans who are coming regularly can learn the words.

Songs make up the atmosphere and some of the newer ones aren't much cop.
We need the atmosphere like the night against Chelsea. So that teams are scared to come to Anfield not just by the football played but by the atmosphere created by the crowd. This willo also hopefully spur our lads on

That's why I prefer away games nowadays - at least nearly everyone knows the words to everything and some of the old songs get sung - like Liverbird upon my Chest which you never hear at Anfield
                I live with Steptoe.

That's absolutely true. Being from the good ol' US of A, I don't really get an opportunity to learn some of the songs like Scouser Tommy or A Liverbird Upon My Chest, and I'd certainly like to be able to sing them when I eventually have the time and money to come across the pond.

I've heard Scouser Tommy sung once in the bar--during the CL final, but that's about it. And I've done some web searching--the words are available, but it would be nice to have audio to go with it.

Perhaps some of these songs could be put on the web, with both words and audio?
