    Xabi Alonso

I thought Xabi was born and bred in the Basque country?
It's just that Andy Hunter, Sky's man in Spain said he went to school in Barcelona, strange.
"Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

His father played for Barcelona, that might have something to do with it

Hunter also said, very confidently, Messi and Eto'o will be fit.

Xabi is Basque. Born in late 1981. Dad started playing for Barcelona in 1983. The wikipedia entry is a bit sparse, but says that his last season as a player was 88/89 with Catalan side Sabadell, after which he moved back to the Basque region to coach a few teams. So, Xabi would only have spent his earliest school days around Barcelona.

Xabi is well and truly basque but the Catalans and the Basques are united in there hatred of the Castilliones
