I'd settle for a refereeing scandal like Italy's with Chelsea and United packed off down to the Championship without a title between them.

United to win the title with us second.
The extra weeks rest and preparition that you will get from not having to qualify for the CL is worth very, very much.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Chavs to win over united, id hate to see United catching us.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Man Utd to finish 1st, us second. As much as I hate man utd, you have to respect what ferguson has done so far this season with what looks like the weakest squad he's ever had. if Utd win it will have been achieved on hard work, planning, merit etc etc which is good for football. if chelsea win....it's a case of buying the title again i'm afraid, which is VERY bad for football.

Carheex, have you ever been to Old Trafford to watch us play?Originally posted by carheex View PostMan Utd to finish 1st, us second. Can you remember the 90's when demento was winning the premiership over and over again?
Do you realise how much they despise us?
Would you like it if United caught up with us with respect to the number of league titles we've both won?
Do you live in London and are hence surrounded by horrible Chav fans?

So the extra two weeks rest in pre season is more important to you than United being a league closer to our 18?Originally posted by AFII View PostUnited to win the title with us second.

Was thinking about this meself the other day as these scenarios are a possibility.
The answer is the Chavs. Obviously. Had the Mancs fot 5 titles, not 15 then yeah, mebbe them. But 16 titles just doesn't bear thinking about.
All this is a bit premature tho- we need to get ahead of the Gooners & put some distance between us. That's certainly achievable, but we need to knuckle down now we are playing a bit better & make it a reality.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

2 weeks rest? Have you watched the games? They are like freindlies anyway. Its not like we could play AC in a qualifying round. We play **** teams who are on par with our reserve team and we beat them. Wether you finish 2nd or 4th it makes no odds to getting into the CL for us. Wether Utd close on our record does.Bill Oddie, Bill Oddie, put your hands all over my body.

Has to be Chelsea.
I deteste them, but utd are far too close to our record for my liking, & let's face it, neither of them are a 'true' footy club, what with roman's blood money, Utd's PLC status &, oh so subtle, removal of the words 'football club' from their badge.
I so hate the fact I'm having to realistically think about either of them winning the Premiership again.

We will win the league next season anyway so there isn't any chance that they will catch us. We also have won another thing five times and they will never do that.Originally posted by desertscouser View PostSo the extra two weeks rest in pre season is more important to you than United being a league closer to our 18?
You also just have to look at Man U this season how much two weeks extra rest can mean for a team. Two weeks is very much when you only have five or six weeks off as most. Our key players have played very much the last two seasons so they will need the extra rest.
If it had been another season and our key players had more rest the previus two seasons then I would have said Chelsea but I look at what is best for the team first and not anything else.Just believe and you never know what will happen.

I want us to extend our league titles over them not let it disappear. Lets look at Man U this season. Who have they played? have they had a run of injuries? A dip in form? The fact them and Chelsea are at the top doesnt say to me they are a top team, it says that everyone else is ****. With a rub of the green anyone could be up there.
Our key players hardly feature in CL qualifiers. Even if they do, playing a competitive game against a **** team from the back end of nowhere is better than playing a lazy game against Wrexham.
Whats best for us, is us remaining the most successful club in History. Not letting teams get close.Bill Oddie, Bill Oddie, put your hands all over my body.

i personally think that is total bollocks and usually the slightly earlier start means the team should be in better match shape to start the season off.
