    Team for Arsenal

    ---- Reina ----

    ---- Finnan --- Carragher ---- Agger ---- Riise

    --- Pennant --- Gerrard --- Alonso --- Gonzalez

    --- Bellamy ---- Crouch(Dirk needs a rest imo)

    Chance for a bit of silverware hence i'd go near enough full strength,
    hard to tell what team Rafa will put out though.
    Should be a very interesting game this one

    Your team is too strong. Rafa doesn't really rate this competition. I'm sure Fowler, Peltier, Paletta and El Zhar will start this one

      Fair enough but we have Watfod at home in the following game hence
      we can rest a few first teamers then.

        That's madness. Sure, underestimate the competition of the Carling Cup, it's a decent competition but it's not worth jeopardising the other competitions for.
        But don't underestimate the premiership and don't underestimate what a winning run and a run of clean sheets does in the premiership. Strongest line-up for Watford, I couldn't give a monkeys about the Carling Cup.

          Plus I'm sure Rafa will play some mind games with Wenger ahead of the FA Cup Tie in January. That one is more important. Also can't see Arsenal playing their strongest 11 for this one. The competition is a joke unfortunately. Pity, because it has some History to it

            I'm sure it was mentioned today that the last time Watford won away in the Premiership was at Anfield. I'd rather rest players for the Mickey Mouse Cup than the league game.

              garcia instead of gonzo on your list would be the strongest team at the moment imho ... but yeah we dont need to go all guns blazing in the carling cup ...we have home advantage lets use robbie and a few youngsters..

                We won't field our strongest 11. Expect Peltier and Guthrie to play from the start in place of Finnan and Stevie / Xabi. Agger will get a run alongside Sami methinks.

                  I'd play a strongish team with Fowler & Crouch up front.....then make changes at half time or earlier if we go a few up.

                  It must be important to keep up our momentum at this stage… must it not?

                    Play the strongest XI. Arsenal will play a stronger side than you think. Wenger knows they are out of the League and the CL is a long way off.

                      I can't see Riise playing. He looks to be the one player we have in our first choice starting XI who looks out of form (well defensively anyway). I expect Aurelio or Warnock (if fit) to play Left Back in this one.

                          I'd say we'll see something along these lines. Maybe Carra or Hyppia might be played to strengthen up the back a bit.

                              We're not in Europe for a while, so we should play something like our best team.

                              May be one or two rested players (Kuyt, Riise?), but otherwise full strength.
