Anyone who says Man Utd haven't got better players than LFC is deluding themselves.
Keepers - Reina is young & promising but Van Der Sar is a class above him at the moment.
RB- Neville is a horrable get but a very good player, better than Finnan.
LB- Heinze for me over JAR
CB-pretty much level pegging here. Ferdinand is over rated but Vidic looks pretty good. Carra/Agger/Sami just edge it for me though.
    RM-Ronaldo against Pennant.Enough said.
CM-Our strong point. Scholes is still top class but overall SG,Alonso & Momo are a stronger unit.
LM-Giggs still rates higher than Kewell or Speedy.
CF- Rooney & Saha are better than Crouch/Kuyt/Bellamy but they do lack back up.

Now I'm sure many will disagree with my summary but truth is, they are 14pts clear of us, & that isn't down to mentality.

We finished 1 point behind them last season.

Its wrong to analyse player against player. It's a team game. At the minute Manure have been playing better as a team. I saw signs yesterday that our front 6 are starting to work patterns and the passing is coming together. If we start playing as a team then despite the lack of quality in some of our positions we can push Manure and Chelski.

We did but this season we are really struggling.
The truth is that in many positions is to close to call between their players & ours. However, those that claim player for player we can match tem are wide of the mark for me.

But we still finished 1 point below them last season. Could have this been a fluke ?

We punched a bit above our weight last season.

How often do we win 11 in a row, or whatever it was? We did it, but it's the exception rather than the rule.

The only thing that we're lacking as a team is the mentality to go for the jugular and play with total confidence in our ability, especially away from home. We should try to squeeze the life out of most teams even when playing away.

As for your player for player analysis, it's still very debatable.

As well as a couple of world class players, and some quality wingers...

No. You see this is your fatal error. That's not an exception or a rule, that's football and football is unpredictable, just like West Ham's result today.

That's why saying Utd have lost 2 out of 18 means **** all, they could lose their next 3, then it looks a bit different.

But the point you're missing is that, rare shocks aside, the better sides generally win and the worst sides more often lose.

Of course there's a 'rule' - the best sides occupy the top few places in a league table and win more than the others, that's beyond debate.
