You can only buy what's on the market and what you can afford. There was no better available option. Rafa actually wasn't keen on pennant which is why he tried so hard to get Alves.

Course he makes mistakes, he is human, and still learning. Dont forget, brilliant as he is, hes still relatively young for a manager. I do however feel you are always a bit too quick to point out his mistakes though and not quite as vocal in your support of him to balnce it out a bit.

That's a fair couple of comments.

Regarding the support for him, i feel that it goes without saying. Perhaps it doesnt come across then, but i'm completely and 100% behind the manager, he's one of the best there is and we're lucky to have him.

As for the pointing out his mistakes, it's just a consequence of the desire for perfection that i suspect we all have. Nothing but the best for our club.

I doubt others feel much differently to that, but i can assure you i'm fully behind Rafa and there's nobody else i'd rather see at the helm.

If we just keep spunking £7m on players who arent good enough, just because our first choice wasnt available at the time, we'll end up with a side full of players who arent good enough....and it'll mean we'll sit about 13 points off top spot.....

It's not black and white. He's not the wrong player, he's got 5+ assists you know, he's just not the best. A decent player is better than no player.

If he cuts it great, if he doesn't we'll ship him out pronto and thank him for the assists that none of our other options (SG aside) would have provided.
