All these threads about whether were really title challengers got me thinking

Whilst i dont think were a title winning squad yet - mainly because we are short of a few world class players for the best 11, the squad has the depth required actually - We have come a long way forward since summer 2004.

In the first 2 years we had quite a few "lemons" in the team who you just knew were going to do something that would cost us points...i'm thinking traore, pellegrino etc...

looking at the current lfc side, the weakest players in the squads are still good pro's. there will always be the odd error but the weekly clanger -usually costing us at least 1 goal - has been eliminated.

well done rafa. now go use the dubai money to get us the bit of world class we need for the next step.

It goes beyond pessimism, as I see it. It's misplaced anger and a lot of doom and gloom.... 'UEFA cup here we come... Bellamy will score only one goal every decade....despite his really ****ing apparent shortcomings, Cisse was awesome... Crouch is still ****e and we should sell him for 5p if anyone offers... Garcia's a waste of space whom we should sell for 4p... it's the end... it really is....'


People are pissed off because not every signing has immediately set the world alight and we're not immediately mixing it with the Chavs and Scum (2 teams with largely settled sides for over two seasons - and more money to spend than us - while in that time we've replaced our strikers, our wingers, and begun to look at replacing half our defence (cover for left back and a longterm replacement for Hyypia)).


I'm as sick of waiting as anyone, but it'll take more time and more money. Rafa will win us the Premiership (with Crouch in the team), but more than anything it'll take more patience.

Wailing and complaining about everything doesn't help, whereas supporting the team and any progress it makes will. So good for you. That's the spirit.
