Yes, I remember reading it when it first came out. What ****e. She claims the whole ground was singing it. So thousands of working class Mancs in the 50's all knew the words to YNWA then? As an opera singer she might've known it, but it was only popularised in this country by Gerry and the Pacemakers, and we took it on board quickly at the time, Gerry having sung it at Anfield. The truth is some biddy may well have once sung it at OT, but so what? There might've been someone before her she isn't aware of that sang it at ****ing Stamford Bridge, doesn't mean the club as a whole took up the song.
