    Parry on DIC investment

I haven't seen this posted here so I thought I'd share it with you.

It's a podcast with some prick hosting it, Gabriel Marcotti, Guillem Balague and someone else. Parry comes onto be interviewed and gets a few questions put to him (one of which he dodges)

It's worth a listen, the interview starts about 12 mins or so into the Podcast so just fast forward through the crap.

I pulled a few quotes and from it earlier and posted them on 6CM while listening to it.

    Here they are :

Things to note from what Rick Parry said :

They should know how soon the deal will be concluded by the middle of this week.

DIC will "assist in funding the stadium." (Not pay for it !)

Parry completely dodged the issue on whether DIC are in it for the money. (which means they are)

"We're a business now, but with a football club at the heart it"

"Clubs must be self sustaining" (so you can forget about unlimited transfer funds)

" The new stadium is a better facility to generate revenue which will in turn be used to finance future deals"

Ballague's 20m in January and 200m in the summer - Parry said the figures are "wildly speculative"

"We will continue to invest in the team"

Parry's vision in 5 years time - Winning trophies the Liverpool way. Silverware is the focus.

And apparently Glazer can't afford to sack his head coach at Tampa Bay due to all his money being used to finance Utd. (according to the presenter)

Interesting stuff, thanks for that Ross
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
      Mine angry and defrauded young?

                Thank you for the link

Sounds like the deal is more or less done and dusted and that Rafa will get money in January if the deal will go through very soon.

Bale or Barnes in January or maybe both?
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

No idea if either deal would be likely but I'd be pleased with both. Admittedly I've never seen either play 90 minutes but my point is I'd be happy to see us continue on this 'talented youth' transfer ploy, and especially two British lads. Spurs' recent 'young British talent' binge is beginning to pay off handsomely with Lennon (£1m), Huddlestone (£2.5m?) and Dawson (£5m?) all featuring regularly, and playing well too. It'd be great if we could do something similar.

Thankfully they lost the main man responsible for that, horribly he's now somewhere much fukkin worse!

This interview points to investment rather than a complete takeover which makes you wonder who will be runing the club in 12 months time. It also raises the question of how willing DIC will be to invest in the squad and te stadium in the short term.

I think it's a bigger chance that we will sign Barnes. We have just signed a Insua and he is a left back and that means that we will have Riise, Warnock and Insua to cover there.

                        Inusa is very highly rated.

DIC aren't taking over the club completely. They're taking a majority stake.

Listen to Parry talk about the future of Liverpool FC in that interview, I got the impression he's going nowhere.

IMO DIC are putting no more money into the club than is necessary to purchase Moores shares and the unissued shares (depending on value of shares and how much Moores sells estimates would be anywhere between £160m - £191m)

When players are bought it will be the clubs money, not DIC's. When the stadium is built it will be the clubs money plus a lot of long term debt not DIC's cash.

That is increasingly the impression I get. And I think I like it that way tbh. Thanks for the link and the snippets, interesting stuff.

41% from Moores and Granadas 9.9% would give them a majority stake.
