Where would we rate in terms of squad and starting eleven

This season I think the best starting 11 is probably the Scum.

As for squad, Chelsea are miles ahead, they have spent far too much money not to. Their first team though, lacks balance, especially if they play 2 up front, because then they play with 4 central midfielders.

I would place our squad second behind Chelsea, while our best starting 11 is possibly 3rd or even 4th behind Arsenal.

Chavs are number 1 for both team and squad for me

I think we sit second for squad and third with our best 11 - a gnats chuff behind Manure

      agree for the most part

but chelseas best 11, playing 4-3-3 with robben and joe cole either side of didier dogbreath is stronger than any side the scum can put out

I honestly think our best 11 is better than the scums best 11, squad wise I don't really think theres much in it.

I would put us second behind the chavs, in terms of first 11 and squad.

Chelsea have the best first team, we have the best squad.

mate just look at the table. That shows how good we really are. We are behind man u and chelsea, by a bit of class. But about the same as arsenal.

Well on recent and home form we are better than the scum and the chavs. It's our early season away form that has let us down, so I don't really think that the league positons prove who has the better players, but rather which teams started the season well, and which teams play together well as a unit.

                    mate "the league never lies."

And we didnt start well because of our players. Bellamy, pennant, hyppia, aurelio, gonzalez .... these guys were a bit ****.

And apart from bellamy the last few games and pennant too, the others still havent been upto scratch.

So basically our team of players and squad of players haven't been as good as those teams above us.

like I said - 'At the start of the season' - the recent results and our home form don't lie either, and our home league form in particular is the best in the league. We had to bed players in at the start of the season, and some players who needed to acclimatise to the english game.

So let's see how the rest of the season goes, and what we make of the visits of the scum, chavs et al, and see where we are then. But like I said at the moment, I don't think there's much in it.

I'm sorry - I thought you were joking.

PS: Nobody, not even Rafa, would say that our squad was as strong as Chelseas. Forget about starting XI...

But the league standings represent the quality of the teams rather than the sum of the quality of the individuals in the first XI.

The league standings as it 'stands' right now. May is the time to judge our season.

Indeed. And despite loose correlation, league standings are not particularly suitable to judge the sum of the quality of individual players in the team - points are achieved by TEAMS that are worth more than the sum of their parts.
