    Aurelio

Glad to see the boy back, even if it was only for a couple of minutes. He showed some really good touches and put in a couple of good balls. With the fixture pile up I hope we get see a bit more of him.

I think he could be quite effective on the left of mid. He was unfortunate at the start of the season because Riise and Warnock got injured and he was played left back and he struggled a bit and lossed some confidence. IMO left wing is his best position because he can put in some lovely crosses which is what we are missing on the left at the moment.

We've hardly seen anything of Aurelio yet but hopefully he'll get a run in the side and shows us what he can do .

He's not done badly at left back also. I'd prefer him over JAR anytime. JAR's been hoofing the ball at every opportunity and i don't like his crossing from the left.

I think his defending is absolutely pathetic. Much prefer JAR to Aurelio.

I prefer Aurelio ahead of Riise anytime. His ball playing skills are million miles better than Riise's. Aurelio is also a team player.

He's positionally naive in my opinion.

He should be given a good run in the team but JAR has been appalling of late. Can't stand his crossing and his hoofing from the back. Yes he's a solid defender and has a thunderbolt of a shot, but he's been getting on my nerves recently. Aurelio is a terrific passer of the ball with such exquisite technique that i would prefer him to be playing left back. He's a terrific crosser of the ball also.

But as you say, he may be suspect at defending because he's so offensive. When he gets the balance right, i think he'll make JAR warm the bench for long periods ... If he stays injury free.

Don't think it's fair because the only match when he's been bad was for the Gala home match, when Luis didn't offer him any kind of protection at all from his left flank. Apart from that, thought he was ok as a left back.

It's difficult having that balance right (between defending and attacking) and the only player who i think is terrific from a right backs' perspective, i hate to say it, is Gary Neville.

Well, Riise isn't exactly a great defender either. I'd say both are quite same level, when defending but Aurelio has a far better passing, crossing, distribution and other ball playing abilities. Riise instead is much stronger and has a better stamina and is better in the air.

Don't forget, that Aurelio is in the new country and team. Patrice Evra looked shaky on last season for Mancs but this season he's been the best left back in the league.

Each have their own advantages and disadvantages, JAR is a better defender and Aurelio is a better attacker. JAR is a power player, Aurelio is more about technique. Aurelio is still settling in and needs a run of games to fit into how our team works.

Riise been absolute ****e these last few weeks, but we've consistently kept clean sheets, which is what a number of a victories have been based on recently. So you have to weigh up if we want sacrifice some of our defensive solidity for a better presence going forward.

Personaly i'm not sure, I think i'd rather stick with JAR at the moment, especially with a few tough games coming our way next.

Riise didn't have a bad game defensively today, I remember one vital interception he made in our box when we were only 1-0 to the good.

Aurelio's positioning is not as good but he is technically better. Because of this I think you are always liable to give the odd goal away when Aurelio is playing in defence. I think we should utilise his best attributes by playing him in midfield.

Stick Aurelio on the left and Garcia on the right (Pennant was dreadfull today)

I think we will see him over the festive period as both wingers today were wank. He needs to stay away from left back as his positional sense is worse than JAR's which is saying something.
We need a left back as i dont think we have a quality one in our entire squad. Perhaps Lucas Neill can play both sides??
