Kuyt is probably the closest to a Shearer type player we've got!?

Crouch like Shearer, give me a ****ing break, he's only half as quick as he was at his age and he wasn't even that fast, Shearer would just nudge him and he'd fall over, like he always does. Shearer's shooting is probably ten times more powerful then Crouch's and he can head the ball ten times better.

Ps I know you said he's no Shearer, but you are trying to say he's the closest we've got, which is so untrue. Kuyt is a Shearer type player to me, hard working, works all over the pitch when he has to, strong as an ox, not quick but clever and has a powerful shot.

Crouch isn't closer to Shearer than Villa, that's ridiculous, Villa is stronger, quicker, has a more powerful shot and he's got to be better in the air, everyone is.

No one would pay 12 million quid for Crouch. Not even Newcastle.

However, if someone did come in with a bid of 12 million quid then I'd sell regardless of a replacement. That kind of money would be too difficult to turn down. Could we not recall Ping Pong from his loan spell in Spain?

As for Villa, is he really worth 20 million plus? And if he is how the f*ck are we supposed to find the cash to sign him?

Conclusion: Crouch stays and Villa signs for Chelsea

        Or....thinking the other way:
He knows Rafa's interested - but we didn't/don't have the money immediately. So instead he puts out comments about not being interested in playing over here - to ward off any potential suitors (not that the Mancs would ever go after one of our 'targets' - no siree bob). In the meantime there are workings going on in the background to make the deal happen.

Not likely I know - but just another slant on Villa's comments.

I don't think Kuyt is like Shearer either. I wouldn't want him to be to tell the truth.

I'd let all the strikers go apart from Kuyt. We desperately need GOALSCORING class up front. We haven't got it and it shows. It's cost us any chance of the title this year. Until we put that right, we've got no chance.

He's more like him than any of our strikers, he shares a lot of the same attributes, Crouch doesn't share one.

You wouldn't want him to be like Shearer? I don't think I've ever heard so much rubbish, that's exactly his problem, he isn't strong or robust enough, he can't shoot accurately or powerfully enough and he certainly can't head the ball as well as Shearer, if he was more like him then he'd be a better player.

Or is it just cause you don't like Shearer?

Kuyt is nothing like Shearer. I don't get that particular comparison.

FFS, have a read back through the posts, I wasn't really trying to start any sort of comparison and I wasn't really saying he was a lot like him, I was just pointing out that he's MORE like him than any of our other strikers, as the earlier poster was trying to say that Crouch was most like Shearer out of our strikers.

He does share some attributes with him though, he holds the ball up well and brings others into play, he's strong, very robust, has a powerful shot etc, you've got to say he's more like him than Crouch, which was all I was saying in the first place.
