to perform as badly as he has been in recent weeks then i'm all for Lucas Neill coming in and starting at left back.

JAR is one of my favourite players but i thought he was dreadful yesterday and has been for a good few weeks now, he was caught out a few times by Bentley yesterday and generally looks tired and clumsy. usually he's very sound and reliable, maybe he's just having a dip in form, i'm not sure.

I know Neill's not a natural left sided player but he's played there alot this season and played well in that position yesterday, he's very solid defensively, give us a bit of aggression which i feel we've lacked in some matches this season.

He's been out of sorts since he returned from injury. At the very least he and Fabio should be able to give him enough competition to make sure he performs at 120%

So you'd prefer we bring someone in to play in a position that is alien to them because a player has a dip in form?

crazy idea marky. That is trying to make a square peg fit in a round hole, so to speak - and a not very good square peg at that.

Riise hasn't been that awful - it's not as if he is costing us goals every game. Give him some time to bounce back.

Anyway Neill's a bit **** and will give away pens galore and get sent off more than is good for him or us.

Unless Insua (sp?) turns out to be utterly rude, Riise's the best LB we have at the club, and still would be if we bought Neill.
