    50 Greatest Liverpool Players

    According to The Times...

Obviously everyone is going to have a different opinion. But Hyypia at 46 and Ray Kennedy at 22 is wrong. Both have been absolutely class players and should at least be in the top 10. As for Rushie only making 11!
Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful

Thing is, about 25 of them should be in the top 10, if you know what I mean! Top class through out that list, as well as many top class players left out.
    Forwards.......

You need to have a think to yourself about the players who have played for Liverpool. It would be good result to get in the top 50.

The thing that strikes me about that list is that most of the players on there were big, tough, hard cases.

They wouldn't last 5 mins on the pitch nowadays.

        Red Cards etc.

how about this one to put the cat amongst the pigeons.

No 45: Matt Busby - his career at Liverpool was cut short by the war.

                  He's Number 20.

I'd have put Kenny higher personally

hehe...I love this about Keegan (great player ana all that) ... "Had we known his parting gift was going to be Kenny Dalglish we would have pushed him out the door long before."

Beardsley should be much higher on that list.

Here's the list in reverse order. The only problem I have is Owen is put ahead of Beardsley, Ray Kennedy, Molby, Whelan and Nicole. I am sure Torres come in much higher if this poll is taken next year.

                          50 Fernando Torres
                          49 Rob Jones
                          48 Peter Thompson
                          47 Jackie Balmer
                          46 Sami Hyypia
                          45 Matt Busby
                          44 Peter Beardsley
                          43 Elisha Scott
                          42 Jerzy Dudek
                          41 Bob Paisley
                          40 David Fairclough
                          39 Ray Clemence
                          38 Jan Molby
                          37 Phil Neal

                            Lawrenson...

'One of the greats... except... except anything he can do, Alan Hansen, his partner on the pitch and colleague in the studio, can do better. That's across the board. Central defender? Hansen. Pundit? Hansen. Everything. If he grew a moustache, Hansen's would be neater, bushier and more attractive.'

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I'd have put molby and clemence higher up the table and found a place for grobelaar too.
