So what do we think will happen to Raheem for the rest of this season and beyond?
Id like to see him used sparingly now until the summer, then maybe loaned out for 6 months next season to get him some games under his belt. Think he will be a good player for us, but its obvious we overused him before this Transfer window.

As many said, playing him regularly was probably a ploy in order to get to sign a contract. He's not good enough for the first team yet. I doubt he ever will be but that is my opinion that not many will share.

element of truth in that.....i feel he still has a lot of work to do to develop his game, don't want him being a headless chicken like lennon with no end product

I dont get how you can tell if he will be good enough at the age of 18? Ususally most players break through into the first team around 19-21 years old, and even then thats at lower level sides than us.
So from that respect its hard to judge. But he is showing promise, and playing half the season at the age of 17 and holding his own in a lot of games tells me that he might have it.
I am not saying he will be a roaring success. But there is absolutely no way I would write him off.

But he has shown he is Saj. Scored a winning goal as well. There is clearly room for vast improvement but we need to get real here, he has only just turned 18! He will get better but the long term problem I see for him at LFC is what is coming up behind him....storm is brewing in the name Jordan Ibe!

he does look good for his age, but whether he will develop and give us more end product is still unclear.
if other options like ibe, coutinho or others come good then maybe he future lies elsewhere. if he leaves then we should get a decent fee and add to the transfer kitty.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Macheda won United the title and were the hell is he now? The odd goal means nothing. Asses his contribution. After the initial breakthrough he tailed off mainly because defenders start to put a bit of emphasis on him. If you watched him at reserve level, you would know he has one way of beating players and that is cutting in (hence why he plays on the left). But in the premiership, he has not been able to do this as when he cuts in he is more often than not running into the holding midfielder. His control is poor and the lightning pace isn't very lightening. He can't round the outside and he can't go on the inside so he resorts to passing. An interesting stat I from a few weeks ago was that Raheem had put 7 crosses in all season - 7!!! I still need to verify that. He is now rightly out of the team.
I know he is young but I have always had reservations about him mainly because he only seems to have one way of playing. Just my opinion of course.
Jordan Ibe as you mentioned is special. There is so much variation to his game and he has a ******* of a shot on him.
For every Macheda there is a Robbie Fowler. Just because one didn't make it doesnt mean the other wont. Macheda from what I can remember was very limited.
Also, how can you be so sure of Ibe? He has yet to make a first team start. The same issues you have with Sterling surely must be there for him.
