...and judging from the comments below, Jamie Redknapp thought it was hilarious. Mind you, he's not known for being very bright...

I thought Milner was excellent on Saturday night. Set the tone for midfield dominance. You just cannot write this guy off he keeps on delivering. Should have scored though.

And showed the value of his versatility, moving to left back when Robbo went off.

I’d say he is our second best LB. I’m not convinced by Kostas.

He was really impressive. Still got it. Although he should have scored in the first half

Imagine he was 27 again, he'd be brilliant with Thiago and Fabinho.

So who's the next Milner, Harvey Barnes maybe?

I think that he tends to have good games when he's had a bit of a break, he still seems to have the fitness to play a couple of games a week but his performances tend to be better when doesn't.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I wonder how long he has left... given that he can play multiple positions, he’s a leader, he always puts a shift in... I could see him being here at least another 2 full seasons, if he’s happy to stay and play less and less of a role..

When you consider the likes of Moreno, lallana, Lovren - all relatively big earners who didn’t feature much in the last year or 2 of their contracts, it’s hard to imagine we would be eager to move Milner on. While he’s not been a superstar, he’s been so important to our success over the last few years, and feel like he still has a lot left to contribute, yet. The way he’s going, he could get a testimonial, one day!
                    I don't tip

Totally agree with you if Milner wanted to stay on.

However, he is on a hell of a wedge considering we signed him on a free transfer. LFC won't offer him the same money so he will have to take a hell of a hit financially. If he went somewhere else on a free transfer, then it is likely that they will pay him some sort of signing on fee.

I think Leeds United might be tempting for him.

But perhaps a player-coaching role at LFC would also be tempting for him???

That's a hell of an offer

Milner’s contract expires next summer and he’ll 36 and a half years old by then.

He’s made a great contribution to the club, but we’re squeezing every last minute out of him at this point and we’d be mad to offer him another playing contract.

Brilliant performance imo and game died when he went off.
