Don't think thats going to be true. 2 managers they have gone for are both different ends of the spectrum. I think the next could be someone in-between.

Klopp is the obvious candidate. Hes someone that existed in a framework of being brought players and dealing with his best leaving most years. It worked for a time at Dortmund. We need a coach, not a manager. Brendan has always seemed to want to do it all.

I think they've only ever appointed their own man once and thats Rodgers. Kenny was somewhat forced upon them through circumstance they could do little else.

It will be difficult for a manager to defend a string of poor performances and a poor league position after being granted five and a half months to bed in the team. I think that the owners have to be fair and give him some time to demonstrate his systems are working. Five and a half months and it will be transparent its not working and then it s time to change. Klopp wanted six months off. Its perfect timing.

You can caveat most things. But the fact is that they appointed him. Same with all their decisions. Nothing is made by reflex with these people.

They had the club for about 3 months before he was replaced.

I think FSG have generally been good owners so far with redeveloping the stadium, putting the club on a sound financial position and investing heavily in the playing squad.

The one area they've struggled is with the team manager. Personally I think they got rid of Kenny too soon (and yes I know our league form was terrible during his one full season in charge but we did win silverware which we haven't done since) and didn't have a firm idea who would replace him.

It looks like they chose a mouthy dud of a manager and are seemingly reluctant to can him either to avoid losing face or to save on the cost of paying him off. I doubt they have any more real faith in him at this point than the rest of us.

Either way the team continues to drift aimlessly leaving the fan base either seething with anger or sullenly apathetic.

I don't see him being sacked anytime soon, I think we have to be on a fairly dire 10+ game run this season before they will consider sacking him. The reasons for this are:
                - They backed him in the summer a couple of bad results this season won't change that.
                - There are only a limited number of managers available midseason (Klopp is the obvious one but other than that there aren't many options). You could try and get someone from another club but they might be reluctant to leave midseason which leaves the other alternative as a caretaker.
                - Appointing a new manager who hasn't had an option to bring in his own players or have preseason probably means effectively writing off the season because there will be little opportunity to make his mark until the summer.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I don't suppose we'd be much worse off with Gary Mac as our caretaker manager?

for me, you only sack the manager if (a) the man you want to take the club forward is readily available or (b) the existing manager has completely lost the plot and his presence is affecting the players in a negative way.

I don't think we are at (b) just yet (although it may possibly be in the post.

So unless they have Ancelotti or Klopp ready to take over, then I would rather we kept Brendan.

To be honest, although I am at the stage where I wouldn't be too sad to see BR leave, I don't trust the owners to make the right move in getting his replacement.

The Season we finished 2nd ... we are only 1 point off that pace having played Stoke Away, Arsenal Away and Man United Away ...

Its not all doom and gloom ... but performances from all concerned need to improve for sure

I don't need it anymore. I don't know what's worse, the **** way we set up and continued throughout to play the same system or anyone out there that thinks the standard of the premier league isn't at the lowest level ever?

The two biggest clubs in the history of the league, having spent ****ing fortunes and they serve up the biggest pile of ****e I've ever seen. Make no mistake that is the worst utd team since pre fergie. It's dire. Yet we go to not lose. Did we not watch what Swansea did? Why not change at half time to two up top? It's so weird as we don't even keep the ball well, something Swansea under Rodgers did. Yeah sure they were ****ing toothless but they retained the ball. We don't ever. Football is dying. It's actually going to be fun seeing it implode. It deserves to. If you serve up ****e, the fans wont pay and the next generation will be into something else. The world cup, champions league and premier league is dull, sterile and almost non contact. **** it all.

In the 4 seasons he has been here he has spent close to £300m on players and what have we got to show for it?

He's bought a lot of players who were not an improvement on what we already had and we have stagnated around 6th or 7th place since 2010 (apart from 2013/2014)

Now that figure doesn't include player sales but nevertheless it's still a massive amount of money and we are no better off than when he joined us. I mean we might have been better off using that money on a new stadium the good it has done us.
